Akiesha heard her apartment’s doorbell rang.
She wasn’t expecting any visitors today.
It can’t be her father or anyone from her tribe since their agreement is only her will go back underground every month to bring her report.
So, who could it be?
Akiesha reached for the doorknob and opened it.
“Surprise!” Hara, Jane and Shenna yelled while Gilbert was just standing behind them.
“What are you doing here guys? Arent’t you all supposed to be in school right now?” Akiesha asked them, opening the door wide for them to enter.
Since that incident during their Acquaintance Party which she learned from the three, wasn’t a kind of party she thought, she was indeed suspended for three days.
And today’s the last day of her suspension.
The trio snuggled on the large sofa while Gilbert silently sat down on an armchair.
She gestured her hands in the air, waiting for their answer to her question.
“Well, we thought you’re bored and needs company so, we ‘illegally’ took your address from the school register.” Shenna whispered.
Hara and Jane were smiling mischievously, perhaps satisfied with their adventure.
She smiled at the thought. It’s so unlikely of these three to break any rule.
Akiesha turned to Gilbert who was now observing the room.
“How about him?” She asked the three pointing at the man.
Just because they went stargazing under the moonlight doesn’t mean they’re now close.
“He saw us sneaking at the gate and when he learned that we’re going to your house, he just tags along.” Jane replied with an expression she can’t quite comprehend.
Gilbert heard Jane and looked at Akiesha. “I was bored too so I thought to come along.”
“Whatever. Anyway, since you all came here so what’s your plan to do?” Akiesha asked them, expecting they already something in mind to help them get passed the boredom.
The three just shake their heads.
Akiesha almost rolled her eyes.
As I thought.
“Maybe we can watch movies?” Gilbert chimed in.
“What’s movies? Is it a kind of sport?” She asked.
The four of them looked at her in disbelief.
“Do you really have no idea what’s a movie is?” Hara asked her.
“I shouldn’t be asking if I know it in the first place, right?” Akiesha answered sarcastically, plunged herself on the armchair opposite Gilbert’s.
“I really don’t how to explain it but it is something that we watch for leisure. Let’s just say, they’re books in motion.” Shenna tried to explain.
She still doesn’t get it however, she agreed to Gilbert’s suggestion.
“So, it’s now settled. Why don’t you three started choosing a movie while I and her prepare some snacks for us.” Gilbert stood up and dragged her. “So, where’s your kitchen?”
Akiesha glared at Gilbert. “Can you not drag me?”
Gilbert just mouthed “ooh -” and let go of her arm.
Akiesha glared at the three that was now giggling.
“Is there anything funny guys?” She asked them while shooting them warning.
They instantly stopped giggling and tried to make their faces straight.
She started walking. “Kitchen’s this way.”
Gilbert followed her towards the kitchen.
When they reached the kitchen, Gilbert took a look at the room and her equipment.
“So, do you cook?” He suddenly asked while taking a knife.
“Nope, I just kill people and eat them raw.” She answered truthfully.
Gilbert looked at her in blankly. “I noticed you always says things about killing people and eating them.”
She tried to observe him if he was serious with his comment.
But she remembers him saying he does not believe on monsters and demons so he might take it as a joke.
“Well, I think it’s a good joke, that’s why.” She reasoned out.
He started opening her kitchen cabinets. “For some people, it’s not a good joke. You might end up scaring them.”
Akiesha just shrugged her shoulders. “Whatever that is. Anyway, what are you going to prepare as snacks?” She said trying to stir the topic away from her supposed scary jokes.
“What do you mean me? You’re going to help me, young miss.” Gilbert said while starting to chop some potatoes he found in her electric cabinet that keeps the food fresh.
“What do you mean I’m helping you? I told you I don’t cook.” She complained.
Gilbert just continued chopping the potatoes. “Then, I’ll teach you. Let me see, take some frying pan and put it in the stove.” He instructed her.
She furrowed her brows. “What’s frying pan? And what is a freaking stove? I told you I never cooked in my entire life, you idiot.” She hissed at him who was chopping the potatoes in thin long slices.
He again looked at her in disbelief. “I can’t believe you really don’t know about these things. Are you living under the rock?”
“Underground.” She simply answered.
Gilbert harshly turned towards him. “What?”
Akiesha can’t believe he was bossing her around.
Arguing with this man sorts of tire her so she just shrugged her shoulders off. “Nothing, just tell me where I can this frying pan and stove.”
Gilbert motioned her to a cabinet, so she walked towards it and opened it.
She gestured to him which of these is a frying pan and pointed a thin circular thing in the bottom of the cabinet.
She took it. “And the stove?”, she asked with her eyebrows arched upward.
Gilbert took the frying pan from her hand and put it above that thing on the center part of her kitchen.
She carefully studied his every motion.
She then heard a click sound and him turning something in front of ‘that’ thing.
The thing suddenly breathed ‘fire’.
“By the dark, what is a demon doing here?” She frantically said while running towards it to cover it away from Gilbert.
Gilbert looked at her in bewilderment.
Did she just call the stove as demon?
Adding to his confusion, she was trying to hide it away from him and whispering something onto that thing.
Why is she acting so weird?
She really gone nuts.
“What demon are you saying? That’s the stove I’m talking about. Everyone knows a stove.” He said trying to explain to her.
The girl glanced at him in horror. “What do you mean this is a stove? But this is breathing fire, isn’t this a demon?” She asked, confused why he’s not afraid of it.
“Enough with your demons, everyone owns a stove. The fire that was emitted from it helps us cook our meals. This only becomes dangerous when handled erroneously and carelessly. I can’t believe, people like you really exist.” Gilbert said while chuckling.
Akiesha sneered at him. She was certain he was laughing at her ignorance.
The nerve!
“Are you by any chance laughing at me right now?” she snickered, clutching her fist ready to throw a punch at him.
Gilbert glanced at her fist. “I’m not, I was just amused that you seemed to not know so many things. Don’t worry, I’ll help you gain knowledge about things that we used here.” Gilbert genuinely said.
Akiesha slowly let go of her fist. She looked at the guy.
Why it seems to her that he got her wrapped in his fingers?
Or was it?
“I don’t need anyone’s help.” She stated.
She hated the fact that someone has the nerve to tell him that she she lacks knowledge.
She is freaking powerful; she is the freaking Akiesha and she allows a human to slander her.
Nevertheless, she felt deep inside that she really needed help from these creatures.
Not for long, she might make a mistake again and end up exposing herself.
She also needs to learn to compose herself and not to get carried away by her anger.
If she wants to win the fight that Scabalo predicted, she needs to learn the culture of these people and blend in.
“I think you do, though.” Gilbert answered her as if he was able to read her thoughts.

Akiesha and Gilbert carried the snacks they prepared (Gilbert prepared actually since all she did was just complain, ask dumb questions and create ruckus) in the living room.
The three exclaimed in joy at the sight of the food.
“Yay! The best part has arrived!” The three said in unison while started picking on the snacks they have prepared.
“So, what are we watching?” Gilbert asked them while sipping a can of soda, sitting on the same armchair he once seated.
She sat down too, facing the TV, the only gadget she knows in her apartment.
“Since the day’s still long, we thought we can have a Harry Potter marathon, don’t you think? Besides, this is probably’s Akiesha’s first movie, so it is just rightful that we start on one of the best, right?” Shenna answered, her eyes were sparkling.
And since Akiesha had no idea what she’s talking about, she just agreed right away with it.
Harry Potter marathon? So, we’re watching a movie related to racing, right?
