Chapter 9

I decided to take Leah to the baby store to buy some baby items for the nursery at my place, under the pretense that I need her help to furniture the room for when the twins come stay with me but in the meantime I want her to never want to leave. We enter the store, I stop in my steps as immediately I feel like I am walking into a conference room naked, definitely not my comfort zone. The whole store looks like a carpenter and a toy maker procreated and this was the result, baby items everywhere. It doesn't seem to bother her though as she waddles ahead and turns back to me as she indicates to the left where the big furniture is situated. “Before we can pick a theme or colors, we need to choose cots” I walked over to the area and was drawn to this beautiful golden slay cot and I walked towards it like a moth drawn to a flame. “Ooh, good choice!” she gushes and I feel like a small boy being patted on the head. I notice little mustaches and the words “my little man” on bed linen and I smile because I know that’s going to be the theme for the room, when I mention this to Leah “Um Raul, there is also a little girl” I wink and gesture to the princess themed items “My little princess, of course” I walk back towards the doors steer towards the check out area, thankfully there was no line so i easily could speak to the woman behind the counter “I would like two of those cots over there" I turn to point towards the ones I like when I spot another guy checking out Leah who followed me to the checkouts, I growl and pull her towards me and I keep my arm around her waist for the duration. “I would like to have a theme of my little man and princess for the nursery, as there’s twins” I say as I rub Leah's belly, Leah is stiff next to me as i assume she is a little embarrassed at my attention but i don't care, i need the world to understand that she's mine. I look the lady in the eyes ``How long until delivery?” I enquire noticing that the blond behind the counter is checking me out “two –three weeks, sir” she says as she looks down, I wait until she looks into my eyes again, I hold out my credit card “I’ll pay an extra thousand dollars if you can get it into my home tomorrow” she visibly swallows and nods while taking my card and swiping it, "Yes sir, would you like to leave your number so I can keep you updates?" She bites her lip and I feel Leah is starting to shake obviously not liking the blondes flirting "Great idea, babe give her your number so she can keep us updated" Leah's muscles relax a little and gives the blonde her number much to her jargon, I'm glad I could show her something on respect, especially in front of my heavily pregnant woman.

I decide to wear a sundress to the park today but i feel like i'm wearing a parachute and i hate it but Raul growls when he sees me in my dress, its red and black polka-dotted and thanks to my bump, it shows cleavage and comes above the knee. We arrived at the park later that day in Raul’s Audi R8 because Raul refused to let me take a cab or drive my Mazda. I understand about the mazda but why not a taxi but he also won’t let me carry anything, I could get used to this treatment but I have a feeling it will get old very fast. Raul is very casual today with shorts and a button down but that man could pull off anything, just his tan alone is hot. I'm still riding the high of Raul choosing me at the baby store instead of the hot blond that was behind the counter, what a b***h! But now i start to worry about when i'm not with him, does he allow flirting or does he put a stop to it, i can't really get upset because I don't want him, i think, my brain shouting 'Yes, you do!'. I shake the wool gathering out of head as I spot Olivia waving at us from under a tree and bless her soul she has brought a chair for me. She looks hot with shorts and a tank top, im so jealous, sigh. I would never admit it but I was worried about sitting on the ground because I don’t think I’ll ever be vertical again. We finally reach the spot and I commence with the introductions “Olivia, this is Raul Calisto, the babies daddy. Raul this is Olivia Bennett, my best friend and God-mother to the babies” They shake hands while I fall into the chair, mmm, much better.

The day goes quite well even when we discussed things like the babies names “Please don’t tell me you guys are looking old fashioned names like Elizabeth or Mary, I mean that floats some peoples boats but I think you must go with new and sexy” I roll my eyes and giggle while lounging in my sun tanning chair “How can I give sexy names to babies?” Raul laughs while he sits close to me while tickling my leg, can he get any more perfect? “Well I have some Portuguese names I would like to add'' I have a great idea, i sit up straight startling everyone “Why don’t we add 3 names each to a hat and we can vote and the ones we love best, win-win!” They think about it, sitting up as well then after a few minutes they then start nodding. “So, Raul, got any super sexy yet super rich friends'' obviously subject changes time, she enquires in her sexy voice that she usually uses to pick up men, “Olivia!” I reprimand, Raul lounges again and laughs “No it's okay, Leah, yes I do Olivia, in fact I have a college friend coming from Scotland soon that may be looking to purchase a house” Olivia’s eyes sparkle, nicely played I think.

I take Leah out to dinner that night and I decide times running out and I have yet to get a commitment from the woman I’m starting to suspect that I love... wait love, this is the first time i have ever associated love and a woman together, i mean i love my mom but its not the same. I've chosen Brunos again, the atmosphere in this restaurant is beautiful, soft music and lighting, candles between us, making it feel like we’re the only two people on the earth, perfect, she's perfect in a figure hugging royal blue dress that really shows how pregnant she is. I feel like a f*****g wear wolf with how im growling around her lately but the dickheads staring at her from a few tables away has really activated my caveman response. After we have received our drinks and ordered our meal, I decide the time has come “Leah, Bela moca, I have loved the time we have spent together and I believe we could only get more closer as time goes by, I feel as if the conception of the twins was just proof that we were meant to be together and but im not forcing us, it’s more like a gentle nudge. I would love for you to make the nursery in my home and for you to make yourself at home. I come home each night hoping that you will be there, but realizing you’re not, not yet. I would love to give you and the twins my last name just as you now have my heart. What I really want Leah, is to make you my wife” She stares at me with shock and i've got to admit that it's sudden but its what my heart feels and like the rising of the sun, a smile forms on her beautiful face, causing my heart to race. “First I want to know what Bela Moca means?” I try to cover my anxiety with a smile “It means beautiful lady, but I love it because it reminds me of the chocolate milkshake you like to drink” she looks me in the eye, i can see her thinking 'Bull s**t!' But her smile says 'What beautiful bull s**t' she takes a deep breath “Then yes Raul, I would love to be your wife, but wait it’s just so sudden, are you sure it’s what you want?” I pull out the ring I have been carting around for a few weeks now "I've been carrying around this for like two weeks now, so for you it may seem sudden but not for me" I smolder at her and she laughs then places her hand, palms down, for me to slip on the ring. It’s an infinity symbol with smaller diamonds along the symbol but has a huge princesses cut, 3 carat diamond in the middle, she sighs and the diamond catches the candle light.

Well this night turned out better than i thought possible, after my successful proposal she is laughing and enjoying the night but she suddenly freezes and goes really pale “Bela moca, are you ok?” She looks at me and whispers “I have either peed myself or my water just broke” My heart stops, then starts again,I stand up and signal the waiter “Please phone the hospital and tell them Dr. Leyton’s patient Miss Mackenzie’s water just broke, she is carrying multiples and we are on the way in” I rush around and help her out of her seat and help her towards the exit, looks like this is it.
