Killari had spent all afternoon trying to find a way to get out of there. Miguel had practically told her his whole life story while he attempted to convince her there was no way she was getting out of there. She mostly ignored him, but she was starting to believe that she was in fact going to remain a prisoner forever. Her only solution might be to persuade someone to let her out, and the only person she could communicate with was her mother, and it would be impossible to convince her. No one had come to see them all day, no matter how much noise she made. She waited all day for someone to show up; until late in the afternoon Carla, her mom’s jaguar, walked into the room.
