Chapter 7 DESPITE Ida’s hostile take-over, James’ funeral was brief, small, and not half bad. It was graveside, and he was laid to rest in between his wife, Alma and Mia. Riley eyed the Lewis family plot. Neither Mia or James should have been there yet. Tears snaked down her face as that thought echoed through her head. It was bad enough that Gemma’s parents, along with hers, were interred there. Those deaths could not be helped, along with Aunt Alma’s, Mia’s mother. Anger flooded through her as there was just no reason for Mia and Uncle James to be there so soon. She wanted to scream in anger at the injustice of the whole matter. And, yet, she couldn’t. Jace was right. She shouldn’t want that kind of rage. But she needed to feel that fury so she didn’t feel the grief. J
