Chapter 8
DETECTIVE STEVIE ROYCE handed Jace the print out of the known police reports of the Love Talker case. Jordan sat there with him, reading, his frown growing deeper and deeper as he did so. Jace knew part of the reason for that frown was Gemma’s insistence in going to the supermarket alone.
He didn’t like it any better than his brother. Riley insisted on going to Eric’s house to visit Teresa. At least Eric was home. Still, when he and Jordan were in the car on their way to the police station, he called Stevie and had her send out two plain clothes officers to shadow the girls. Stevie informed them one officer was with Gemma, the other with Riley. So, he felt somewhat better. But a nagging worry sat in the back of his mind.
“I did some digging,” Stevie was saying.
