NINA POV
I staggered back, horror gripping my chest as tears welled up in my eyes. “No… no! I can’t lose just yet! I have a child, Lucifer. Please… I’ll do anything! My child is still so…so..young”. My voice cracked as the tears spilled over, my vision blurring as the weight of my mistakes crushed me.
“You should’ve thought about that before,” he said coldly. “You made a choice, Nina. And you put your faith in a man—Raymond, wasn’t it? The one you loved with all your heart. You thought he’d be the answer to everything. And now… look at you.”
His words stung like poison. I clenched my fists, feeling the hot tears stream down my face. “I trusted him,” I whispered. “I trusted him to love me, to be there… but he… he left me…” My voice broke. “He never loved me, did he?”
