Maria's pov :

I watched her run away. I sat down slowly on the bed and wept.

She doesn't know about her mother??

But why was she angry with me?. Why was she in tears when she came back from school??

I never wanted her to find out this way. She shouldn't have found out this way.

I sniffed. I picked my phone and called my husband

?hello darling, you're missing me already

I sniffed trying to hold back my tears

?Delaney she found out about her mother. She got so angry and ran out of the house. I can't find her, I can't

I wept, letting the tears flow freely

The call ended and I dropped my phone on the table.

"Where could she be? It's late and it's a cold night. Where exactly will I find her?" I thought

Alicia's pov :

"Mum I'm off to church" I screamed

"Ok darling" mum replied

She was in the kitchen when I left the house. I stopped a taxi.

"Saint Louis Catholic Church" I told the taxi driver

He told me the price and I entered. Drive to church was quiet. I got to the church and alighted from the cab. I paid the cab man and went into the church

Church service was awesome. We did the necessary things and then we were done for the day.

"Sister Licia we are having a meeting" sister Emma said

I walked to the place where they were seated and the meeting began.

"For those of you interested in becoming a Reverend sister, the form is out. And there is a scholarship for one person. There will be an exam, the person with the highest scores get the scholarship" Reverend sister Lucy said

I chuckled happily. I have always wanted to be a Nun. This is a perfect opportunity for me.

We ended the meeting and I stood up to leave

"Alicia" sister Lucy called

I walked closer to her smiling

"Good evening sister" I greeted

She smiled

"I hope you will get the scholarship" she said fondling with my hair

"Yes sister, I hope I can win it too" I replied

"I wish you all the best" she answered

"God bless you sister"

I left the church and was walking home alone. I decided to sing to ease the boredom.

I sang "Panis angelicus". I so much love that song

I saw someone sitting on one of the benches on the road side. The place was a bit dark, I couldn't get to see her face.

She placed her palm covering her face. I walked closer to her

"Are you ok??" I asked

"It's late you should go home" I added

Since she wasn't saying anything, I bent to her level. She looked at me and I was astonished

"De..... Delaney!!" I cooed

Delaney's pov :

I ran as fast as my leg could carry me. I got tired and sat close to a Catholic Church. I buried my head in my palm and wept.

"I......i...... I'm not your mother Delaney. I thought you found out?"

"Delaney I'm not joking, that's the truth"

Those words kept ringing in my ears. The tears kept dropping, the more I remember her words.

"Is that the reason I felt different" I thought

I didn't know for how long I cried but I knew it was late already and I needed to go back home. But I was not ready to face her, to face them.

I yawned slightly. I was so hungry but I couldn't move an inch. I was already dozing off when I heard someone singing.

The voice was so angelic and soothing to the heart. I sat up properly and tried seeing the face of the singer. The place was a bit dark, I couldn't get to see her face.

She walked closer to me

"Are you ok??" She asked

"It's late you should go home" she added

She bent to my level and she was astonished

"De..... Delaney!!" She cooed

I strain my eyes looking at her and oooh my

"Alicia!!!!" I yelled

Alicia's pov :

"Alicia!!" She yelled

I shifted backward afraid I might get into trouble. She stood up and tried to touch me but I ran off.

I ran as fast as I could. I finally stopped when I was sure she was far from me. I panted heavily.

I sat on one of the benches

"Alicia" someone called panting

I looked up to see Delaney staring at me. I made to run but she held me

"Alicia" she cooed

"I....i...need your help. I know i've not been a good person to you but I really need your help" she said

I sigh. Although I was shivering a bit, I tried as much as possible to keep a bold face

"What do you want from me?" I asked

She sat beside me but I shifted creating great space between us.

"Licia, can I go home with you? I just want to spend a night in your house. I will leave tomorrow morning" she said

I looked at her surprised.

Is she joking right now??

"You want to go home with me???" I asked

She nodded trying to fight back the tears

I was moved by her tears. I really don't know what happened to her but the Delaney I know hardly cries.

And for her to cry. It definitely means she's hurting

"But I do not live in a mansion" I said

"Licia, I really don't care. I just need a place to lay my head, I promise to leave tomorrow morning" she answered

"My house is a bit far from here and I have no money for transport fare" I said

"We can walk it right??" She asked

I nodded

"I will go with you" she said

Let's go" I replied

We stood up together. We walked along the pedestrian track. Silence invaded.

"Delaney, why were you seated there?" I asked breaking the silent

She sniffed but did not say anything.

"Delaney, you can talk to me" I said

"I don't want to talk about it" she answered sternly

The rest of the walk home was quiet. I don't know if helping her will bring me trouble but I just felt it was right.

I hope I don't regret it

Maria's pov :

We've been looking for her for the past 5 hours. Ever since she left the house, my mind has been unsettled.

We visited the police department to file a complaint.

"When exactly did she leave the house?" A police officer asked

"5 hours ago" I replied

"That's less than 24 hours, we can't do anything for now until after 24 hours. Maybe she is with a friend"

"What are you even saying? I can't find my daughter and all you can say is you can't do anything?" I yelled hitting my hand on the table

"Ma'am you need to calm down. We will find her"

"You better do it. If anything happens to my daughter, I will sue you" I answered angrily

We were assured that she would be found, so we left. When we got back home. Adrian and Adrianna were already fast asleep. I went upstairs with my husband.

I sat on the bed thinking

"We're going to find her"

"When??, I need to see her, I need to see my daughter!" I yelled crying

"Come on, trust me we will definitely find her" he cooed

He held me tight

"It's a promise, Delaney will be back home"

I nodded in agreement.

I hope she does, I really hope she does
