Alicia's pov :

The rest of the journey was silent. We finally got to my house. All this while, I have been thinking of what to tell my mum. She has refused to tell me the reason she left home.

I came up with a plan which I believe will work.

"Delaney when my mom asked why you left home just tell her your parents travelled. I will do the rest of the talking"

She nodded. I realised it won't be an easy task convincing my mum, so I decide smuggling her in without my mom's consent

"You know what Delaney. I will find a way to take you inside without my mom knowing. Just wait for me outside" I said

"Are you sure it will be safe??" She asked

"Yes. Just put your mind at rest. I've got this" I replied and she nodded

I went in to see mom reading a newspaper.

"Good evening mom" I greeted

"Oh, you're back. You should go get a shower and come downstairs for dinner"

"What's in for dinner?" I asked

"Mashed potatoes and chicken"

"That's nice" I answered yawning

"Mum" I called

She turned to face me

"I think I smell gas" I said

"Gas???. I can't smell it!!" She answered sniffing around

"Maybe you should check it. I will check from outside" I replied walking close to the door

She stood up immediately and went into the kitchen. I opened the door and gesture to Delaney to follow me.

She entered and we walked quietly to my door.

"Licia are you there?" She asked

"Yes mom, no sign of leakage outside. Do you find any form of leakage in there" I yelled trying to open my door

"Stay close to me" I whispered to Delaney

She nodded. I was about opening the door to my room when mum popped her head out of the kitchen door.

"No form of leakage" mom said

I was fast enough to open the door and slightly pushed Delaney. I whined a little

"What's going on??" Mom asked

"Nothing mom I just had a little headache" I answerd holding my head

"Are you ok??. I should get you drugs" she said holding my hand

"No mom, I will be fine. I will love to eat my food in my room"

"I will bring it. Just go take a shower" she said walking away

"Can I get food for two??? I think my appetite increased" I yelled

I sigh. I walked in to my room to see Delaney seated on my bed

"Sorry I made you lie" she cooed

"It's nothing. You should go take a shower. Food will be ready soon" I said

She walked into the bathroom. I stood up and went to my wardrobe. I have a new night ware mom bought for me a week ago. I was planning on giving it to Delaney.

There was a knock on my door. The door opened and it was mom. She came in with two plates of mashed potatoes and chicken. She dropped it on the table.

"Thanks mom" I said

She walked closer to me and touched my hair

"The girl you came with, what's her name?" She asked and I gasped

"Mom wha...... What are you talking about?" I asked

"Alicia, I know you too well. I know you want to help her but just be careful. I will pretend I did not see her" she said walking away

I sat on the bed. Thank God mom was not angry

The bathroom door opened and Delaney stepped put with a towel wrapped around her body.

"Take this. It's still new" I said handing over the night wear to her

"Thanks" she muttered

"You should eat when you're done" I said

I left her to get dress while I entered into the bathroom to take a shower.

I allowed the cold water touched my skin. Gosh i so love it.

"Hmmmmm. It taste so nice" Delaney cooed

I smiled and sit beside her. I opened the other plate and dug in immediately. I was starving.

Soon we were done eating.

"Thanks" She said

"Come on enough of the greetings" I said

I stood up and carried the tray to the kitchen. When I was back, Delaney was already lying down on the bed.

"Licia" she cooed sitting up

"Yes" I replied sitting on the bed beside her

"If you find out the people you grow up to know as your Parent are not your parent what will you do?. If they have been lying to you all this while how will you react??" She asked

I sigh

"I will be mad at them for lying. I will stay in doors for days but no matter what, I will not hate them or talk to them rudely. I believe they have reasons why they do that" I replied

"Delaney, I don't know why you left home but if you left because of this, I will advice you go back home and hear them out. They might have reasons for that. But remember, no matter your decision I will be right here for you" I said holding her hand

"Alicia. I regretted ever been wicked to you. I never knew you will be of help to me in terms of trouble. Thank you so much" she cooed

"Delaney, I have always seen you as a friend. No matter what you did to me. I have always and will always love you"

"Thanks once more"

"Come on let's sleep" I said lying down

"Licia" she cooed

"I never knew you can sing" she said

"Well nobody knows I can except my mom" I answered

"You've got nice voice"

"Thanks"

"Can you sing for me?? The same song you sang when I saw you"

"I will"

I sang. I have always loved this song since when I was little. I turned to see Delaney sleeping peacefully

"Delaney, Delaney, Delaney" I cooed but she was already fast asleep

I yawned slightly and finally off the light.

Morning

I sat up on the bed stretching a bit. It's weekend. I turned to see Delaney still sleeping. It was 6:00am.

I stood up and went outside. I could hear sound from the kitchen. I went in to see mom preparing breakfast.

"Good morning mom" I greeted

"Good morning princess" she answered

"Is your friend awake??" She asked

"No mom"

"I kept a tooth brush on the dinning. You should give it to her. Breakfast should be ready in few minutes" she said

"Thanks mom" I replied hugging her

I went back to my room to prepare her bath. I came back to wake her up

"Delaney, you should stand up" I said hitting her slightly

She turned and finally sat up.

"It's morning already??" She asked

"Yea, you should go take your bath I will get your breakfast ready. I dropped a new toothbrush on the basin" I said

"Thanks" she replied

She stood up and went to take her bath

I was done taking my bath and eating. Mom was off to work and Delaney was also ready to go. I followed her out to help her get a taxi.

We waited patiently. Soon she got one and I paid.

"Thanks" she said hugging me

She released herself from the hug and was about entering into the car when I called

"Delaney" I cooed

She turned to look at me

"Delaney. No matter what happened. Do hear your parents out. They might have reason for doing that" I said

She nodded and finally entered into the car. I watched the car go before going in.

I hope she settle score with her patents

Delaney's pov :

The taxi stopped at the front of my Manson. The house I have grown to love. I stepped out of the car and knocked at the gate

The gateman opened the gate

"Miss, you're back. We've been looking for you" he said

I ignored him and entered into the compound. I walked to the door and pressed the bell.

The door opened and lo and behold mom was standing in front of me

"Delaney" she yelled
