Alicia's pov :
I was shocked and confused at the same time. The students gazed at us surprised
"Ahem" I clear my throat
She released me from the hug and smile. She hold my hands
"Alicia, thanks" she said
"Come on it's nothing" I whispered
"Get to your sit everybody" someone said
It was Miss Alexis, the mathematics teacher.
"Let's sit and talk during the break time" Delaney whispered
I nodded
Everyone went back to their seats and the class commence
"What happened between you and Delaney?" Maya ask in a whisper
"Nothing much" I whispered back
"Are you hiding something from me?" She asked
"Of course not. Why would I? You're my friend. I will tell you if need be" I replied
"Licia, we are friends right?" She asked
I hit her playfully
"Of course we are, why will you even think that?" I replied
"Well" she relaxed in her chair
"I have this feeling Delaney will take you away from me" she replied
"You know she can't. You're my best friend and I love you. Maya I can't leave you for......." I was interrupted
"Alicia!!! Maya!!!" Miss Alexis yelled
We stand up gradually from our seats.
"What are you guys discussing about in my class?"she asked
"We are sorry ma'am" Maya said
"We are really sorry" I added
She glare at the both of us but said nothing
"Sit" she finally say
We did and the rest of the lecture was boring

It is break time. Students were rushing to the cafeteria to either get a seat or due to how hungry they were.
"Seems someone is not hungry today" Maya said more of a statement than a question
I roll my eyes, bringing out my lunch box. I opened it up and begin eating
"Hey, don't try shunning me ok?" she said
I ignored her and continued eating. She sighs, frustrated by my actions.
"You know what, I am out of here" she said angrily and made to walk away
I pulled her back, laughing
"I got ya" I said
She looked at me confused
"You've forgotten our bet last week?" I asked
She hold her head trying to remember
"Ooooh! Licia that's not fair" she replied
"It's an agreement" I said laughing
"I hate you"
"I love you" I replied
We both laughed. She sits beside me and we continue eating. When we were done, I packed the lunch box and put it back into my bag. I stood up
"Maya, I need to find Delaney" I said
She nodded
"I will be back before the break elapses" I said
She didn't say anything, she only nod
I left the class in search of Delaney. I got to the cafe and began searching for her. Soon, I saw her seated with the remaining D6
I walked slowly to her seat. She stood up immediately when she saw me.
"Alicia" she cooed
"Come sit" she gestured
I draw a seat out and sit down
"Hi" the D6 member greeted smiling
What!!!!
Are they really smiling at me??
"Hi" I replied, smiling but trying as much as possible to hide my fear
"I looked for you but couldn't find you" Dalaney said
"Yea I was with Maya" I replied
"Where is she?" She asked
"She'd some few things to do in class" I replied and she smiled
"What do you care for?" She asked
"Nothing, I'm ok" I replied
"Sure? Bills on me" she said
"Yea"
"Let's stroll to the garden" she said standing up
"Ok" I stood up also
"I will meet you guys in class" she said referring to her friends
We left the cafeteria
"Alicia, I have not been able to say thank you for the other day" she turned to face me
"I'm using this opportunity to say thank you" she said
I smiled
"It's nothing. I'm glad to help"
The rest of the stroll to the garden was quiet. We picked a spot with a good view and sat down.
"Alicia" she cooed
"That day you asked me why I left home but I never gave you an answer. Why didn't you pressure me further?" she asked
"I understand it's your personal life and I do not want to dig into it" I replied
She smiled
"I like you Licia and I wanted to be your friend. I have always done it but I just couldn't get close especially when nobody did. Instead I bullied you. But when Maya came, she wasn't bothered by what people say or think about you. She became your friend, I hated myself for acting according to what people say. It was too late to back out. I'm sorry" she said
I was surprised
"Delaney, let's forget about the past and move on" I replied
She nodded
"Alicia, I know I was not good to you but I want to be your friend. I want to redeem everything have done to you" she said
"You....you want to be my friend?" I asked surprised
She held my hand
"Licia, I know it will be hard for you to accept me considering everything that has happened between us. I want you to think about it" she said
I relaxed on the chair
"There is nothing to think about" I thought
"Delaney, like you said, it won't be easy but like the Bible says we should not pay evil with evil. I think God used that day to bring us together and to settle our differences. Delaney I accept you as my friend but please don't make me regret doing that" I said
"Are you for real?" She asked happily
"Yea"
"Thanks Licia" she hugged me tightly
"I promise you won't regret this" she said
"I believe you, " I replied
We heard the bell and stood up hastily
"What subject are you having now?" She asked
"Chemistry, what about you" I replied
"Same, we should get going" she said
We ran all the way back to the class. Students were already seated, when we walked in.
I waved at her and went to seat close to Maya
"You stayed long"
"Yea, i'd to finish up some stuffs" I replied
"What's up with you and Delaney?" She asked
"I will tell you everything on our way home" I replied

"You made friends with her?How could you?Have you forgotten so soon how she treated you?" Maya yelled
We are on our way to her mother's shop. I just told her about what transpired between Delaney and I and she's not taking it likely. I knew she would flare up when she heard it.
"You're not saying anything?" She said
"Come on Maya, stop making big deal out of nothing" I replied
"Really??, I'm making a deal out of this. What's wrong with you Alicia. Is that how easy you forget the pain she caused you" she said
"Maya, she's changed. She realized her mistake and she wants to make up for it. You do not expect me to pay evil for evil right?" I asked
"Of course, I never said that. Licia i just want you to think about it" she replied
I stopped walking and she did too. I held her hand
"Maya, right now what I need from you is your support. Trust me Maya. I am not going to leave you for Delaney but It's not a bad idea adding to our friends" I told her
She sigh
"Licia, I trust you. I am just not certain this is the right choice. Do you trust her that much?" She asked
"I do not trust her yet but I believe it's God's way of bringing us together, trust me Maya. We won't regret this" I replied
"I trust you" she said
I pulled her into a hug
God, I hope I'm not making the wrong choice. I just I'm not
"Lord help me to love them both. Help me not to regret my actions" I prayed silently
She pulled away from the hug
"We should get going. I wouldn't want you to get home late" she said dragging me
I laughed
"I love you" I cooed
"I love you too" she replied
