A week later
Alicia"s pov :
We were seated around a table in the cafeteria, the D6, Maya and I. So funny how we were able to get along easily.
I was seated close to the window, with Delaney seated by my left and Maya by my right. Diana was seated close to Maya and Daniela. Dylan was opposite me and closer to Dahlia. Daisy was beside Delaney.
"Alicia, pass me the shrimps" Delaney said
I smiled and passed the plate in front of me to her
"Delaney, when are you leaving?" Dahlia asked
She sigh
"In two weeks time" she replied sadly
Delaney will be leaving for Korea. The DNA result proves that she was her daughter. At first, Delaney did not accept going with her but after much talk, Delaney finally agreed to follow her to Korea.
"Don't worry, we will keep in touch" Daisy said
I smiled
"I can't believe you will be leaving just when we are getting along" Maya said
"I still can't believe you are Korean" Dylan said
"Me too" Diana replied
Delaney dropped her cutlery
"Why don't we make use of the few weeks we have together" she said
"Yea" Daniela said
"I have an idea, why don't we have a sleep over at my place" Delaney said happily
"I think I like that" Daisy replied
Every other person agreed but Maya and I did not say anything
"Maya, Alicia you are not saying anything" Delaney said
I smiled
I don't think my mother would accept that. I haven't had a sleepover before. I also don't want the sleep over either
"I don't know if my mom will say yes to that but I will talk to her" Maya said
"Alicia?"
"I..... I... I don't think my mom will let me come even if I ask her" I stuttered slightly
"What if I talk to her myself?" Delaney asked
"I.... I...... don't think that will be necessary" I answered quickly
"You can go on with the sleep over and gist me about it the next day" I added
"Ok" Delaney said
She looked really sad but she concealed it
Break was soon over. We left the cafeteria and went back to the class

"Don't you think you should tell your mom about it" Maya asked on our way home
"No"
"You should at least try" she said
"No Maya. There is no need for that" I replied
"But Licia you should at least try" she pressed further
"Maya just forget it ok!!" I yelled
She was shocked
"Licia", she cooed
I sigh
"Maya don't you understand. My mom will never accept no matter how hard I try to convince her. There's no point trying" I replied sadly
She did not say anything. I sigh. I saw a taxi coming and I stopped it
"I will see you tomorrow. I'm going to church" I said
She did not reply so I left her and entered into the car
Maya's pov :
I watched her enter into the car still shocked at her reaction
Licia has never yelled at me before. What's going on with her? Why is she acting strange?
Is she having a problem at home with her mom or is it Delaney?
She has grown so fond of Delaney just within this short period of time
I will miss Delaney too
Within this one week I have spent with her. I have understood the kind of person she is. She 's kind and friendly.
I think Licia needs time
Delaney's pov :
Daniel was already waiting for me when I got to the park
"Hi Del" Daneiel greeted
I smiled
"Hi. How is your day going?" I asked
"Fine. I can see yours is fine too" he said and I nodded
I got into the car and he drove off. Throughout, my mind has been troubled.
The reason I wanted the sleepover was because of Licia. I wanted to spend some time with her. My real mom said something about knowing her mom, the day I introduced her as my friend.
I need to find a way of making her come
"What if I visit her home" I thought
That will be a great idea but I don't know when she will be around
"I will find a way"
"Home sweet home" Daniel said and I smiled
Indeed, it's home sweet home. I feel so sad I will be leaving soon.
Mom said I have a younger brother called Chin-Hae. She also said I will have to add Hyo-Sonn to my name and change my surname to Lee.
I am not even bothered with the change of names. What bothers me is acceptance. What if I am not accepted by my father and brother. Because with the look of things, it seems my mom is the only one looking for me
"Ma'am" Daniel jerked me out of my thought
I smiled and alighted from the car. I walked to the door. I was about opening the door when Daniel called me
"Ma'am, i will miss you" he said
I tried holding back my tears
"I'm not leaving now. I still have two weeks to spend with you" I replied
"Yea, I know but soon two weeks will be over" he said
"Daniel I will miss you too" I replied hugging him
I will miss everybody
"I wish I don't have to leave" I thought
Alicia's pov :
The taxi halted at the church gate and I alighted. I paid him and went into the church.
There was nobody inside. I walked to the front seat and sat down, dropping my bag by my side
I rested for a while and finally brought out my rosary from my bag. I stood up and went to kneel down. I said a few prayers and I really felt relieved.
I went back to my seat
I still can't believe Delaney is leaving soon. I know I have Maya, Daisy, Diana, Daniela, Dylan and Dahlia. But.....
"Licia" someone called
I turned to see Sister Lucy
"Are you ok?. You should be at home " She said
"No sister. My heart is troubled. I decide to come pray" I replied
She smiled and sat beside me
"You've always been my favorite Licia. Whatever is troubling your heart. Just believe God will take control" she said
I nodded
"Do you want to share? She asked
I nodded
"A friend I just made recently is leaving for Korea. I thought I wouldn't miss her but the shorter the days become, the angrier I become. I don't want her to leave" I said
She smiled and drew me closer
"Licia, everything happens for a reason. Instead of getting angry over her leaving, why don't you make use of the fews days or weeks you have with her. It will be an awesome memory" she said
I turned to look at her
"Really?" I asked
"Yes Licia. Creating a beautiful memory with her is what you need now. So that whenever you remember her you will smile" she answered
"She wanted a sleepover at her place but I told her my mom will not let me" I told her
"Licia, do you want a sleepover?" She asked
I nodded in agreement
"Then tell your mom, ok?" She said
"Now go home, it's getting late" she added
I stood up and carried my bag
"Thank you, Sister Lucy" I said hugging her
"Go" she cooed
I ran out of the church. I feel really happy. Thanks to Sister Lucy

"Licia, where have you been?" Mom said walking up to me
"Mom" I called hugging her
"I went to the church" I said
She smiled
"Go take a shower. I will serve your dinner" she said
"Mom, can I ask you something?" I said
"Of course darling"
"Delaney is having a sleep over at her house and she wants me to come. You know she will be leaving for Korea in two weeks. I want to ask you if I could go" I said a bit nervous
She smiled
"You can" she replied
What!!!
"I can?"
"Yes, anything for my baby" she replied
I hug her
"Hey" she cooed
"Thanks mom. Thanks"
