??TO THE BEAUTIFUL HEART?? (The golden heart) ?Episode 2? ?DETROIT ? Maria's pov : "Do you think it's right to tell her?" I asked disturbed "Yes darling, she deserves to know the truth. You know sooner or later, she will have to go" he answered. "But I love her. I don't want to lose her" I wept "Of course you won't. She's a very brilliant girl and I know she loves you too. But you can't keep this away from her for long. She will definitely find out. And if she does she might hates you for that" he said and I nodded I love her so much, I really don't want to Lose her but I have no choice. I don't want her to hate me, I don't. I wept. She has been a dream come true, from the day I saw her in a basket. I had been married for 15 years and had no child. Although my husband never troubled me, I felt I failed him. I felt I betrayed him. But I never knew he was a betrayer. ?Flashback ?? 16 Years Ago I had a quarrel with my husband over another woman. I can't believe he hurt me. I can't believe he betrayed my love for him. I hate him. I hate him right now. "It was never my fault, we had no children. It was never my fault" I thought I watched him leave the house. I sat on the couch and wept. He should have agreed when I told him to let us adopt a child. "Maybe things might have been different. Maybe, maybe" I wept I stood up and went to the room we shared together, the room that once harbored our love. The room that was once filled with love. I opened the wardrobe and brought out all my clothes. "I'm leaving, that's the best option for me now" I can't let him bring another woman into the house. I can't I packed all my clothes into my red box and dragged it down the stairs. I went back to pick a few of my things before dragging them to my car. I opened the booth and put them inside. I looked at the house for the last time. I can't believe I'm leaving. I wiped the tears threatening to fall before entering into my car. I ignited the car and drove off. That fateful day, I left the house and vowed never to return. I drove for over an hour before getting to my destination. I parked my car and opened the booth. I brought out the bags. "Good evening ma'am" the guard greeted All I could do was nod my head. He offered to carry my box while I carried the rest inside. "Thanks," I muttered. He smiled "You can call me when you need anything ma'am" he said flashing his white teeth "No thanks you can leave" I said feebly I dragged my bags upstairs and had a shower before going out for a walk. I walked slowly in the street afraid that I might catch a cold. I totally forgot to carry my coat. I guess I'm just too tired to do that. I walked down the street, all I could think of was him. I can still remember when we met at my Aunt's wedding. He was so handsome and I must say gentle. My heart melted at the thought of him. His smiles were medications to my already wounded heart. His voice was a melody to my ears. One thing led to another and we exchanged contacts. We made sure we kept in touch and after some months, the wedding bell rang. My wedding, sorry our wedding day was the happiest day of my life. The day I finally said yes I do to the man I love. The man I cherished and had always dreamt of spending my life with. Friends and family wished us well and with a goodbye to well wishers, we went to Paris for our honeymoon. Days turned to months, months to years and years to years and I was not pregnant. I cried everyday, we visited so many hospitals but all they could say is we are both ok. I lost all hope. But Williams was there for me. He gave me the hope I thought I lost. But now he broke me to pieces. He broke me, he betrayed me. He betrayed my trust for him. I felt tears drop. I really do not want to cry, it makes me feel weak. It makes me weak. I found a place to sit and cried out my pains. "Why Williams, why? Why hurt me this much" I cried "Where are all the promises you made to me? Have you forgotten so soon? Have you?" I screamed I wish he could hear me, I wish I could shout at him, I wish I could tell him how hurt I was when he told me she's pregnant. I cried until I got tired of crying. I finally cleaned my eyes and stood up from the pavement I was sitting on. "He's not worth it" I walked tiredly, following the direction I came from. I felt so sleepy. I kept dragging my tired legs until I heard a sound I stopped abruptly, afraid that I might get hurt. I wanted to run as far as my leg could carry me but something kept pulling me back. I mustered up courage and followed the direction of the sound. The sound became clearer the closer I got to it. Then I saw it. A weave basket with a baby inside. The sound was coming from the baby. It looked so tired. Tired from crying I guess. I felt reluctant to pick it up. What if it's a blessing in disguise. What if God sent an angel to bless me with the baby. I brought out my rosary and said a short prayer before lifting the basket up. It was past midnight and a very dangerous place to be. I ran carefully back to my room and dropped the basket on the bed. I heaved a sigh of relief as I watched the baby. I picked the baby up. It's a girl!!! Looking at her gave me joy. She gave me hope. The hope I thought I lost was restored the day she came into my life. She became my reason to live, my reason to smile, my reason for a bright future and a better tomorrow. Williams never called to ask why I left or why I made that decision. I felt betrayed by him but with my beautiful angel I have every reason to smile. ?Flash back ?? "I can't lose her, if she leaves I might die" I cried bitterly "You won't lose her. All you need to do is tell her the truth. She deserves to know" "What if she leaves me. What if she hates me for keeping such a secret from her?" "She won't hate you, I know she won't. You did the best by keeping it a secret" he said consoling me "What if she leaves?" I asked "It's her choice to make. But whatsoever her choice is, you have to accept it. I know you won't want to hurt her. So let her make the choice herself" All I could do was cry. I never knew a day would come when I would have to tell her the truth. The truth about her. I thought everything was going smoothly. I thought her mother never wanted her. I thought she would be mine. Just mine "I hope she forgives me" I said He cuddled me, assuring me that all will be well. "You don't have to worry, all will be well. By tomorrow, we will know what to do" he said I just hope by tomorrow everything will happen as planned. I hope she doesn't hate me TBC * *
