The High RoadTerrence's recovery was a much steadier one after Reena and Liz chased away the vampirism. Liz insisted that he remain in the infirmary just a bit longer so that his recovery hit no snags, but luckily, all was well. The only change that anyone saw was a taste aversion to anything with garlic in it.
“It sucks something awful, too,” he lamented one day after his parents came to check in on him. “Never again can I eat garlic toast. It was one of my favorite things.”
“Terrence,” chided Reena, “that crap is laced with so many impurities that it can only be classified as toast by the loosest definition.”
Jonah and Terrence glanced at each other, but neither of them was annoyed so much as relieved that Reena was back to her old self. Still.
