Kendall realized her mistake too late, and her eyes widened as Terrence joined them. He, too, looked nervous about Kendall's proclamation.
“Oh, damn,” she muttered. “How could I forget dueling cooks in the holiday season? How do I make it right?”
“Easy,” said Terrence. “Grab a portion of each one.”
Kendall looked horrified.
“Not to eat!” said Terrence hastily. “Just to make amends! When you get to the table, pass them off to Bobby, Alvin, Kendra, Dad…hell, I'll even take some. Just don't say stuff like that anymore!”
“Thanks, Terrence.” Kendall looked relieved that she had a way out. “You're a wise, man.”
Terrence gave her a sly smile. “I'm full of wisdom. I'd love to converse more if that's alright with you.”
