She stood in front of the little old house. Stared at the papers in her hand before entering the house.
Two little girls ran into her arms crushing her into a tight embrace. She smiled as she stared at them. Their little giggles filled the entire house. Her spirit was finally lifted after today’s crazy event.
“Mummy, you came late today. Why? I was so worried” The youngest amongst them said pouting her lips in a cute way.
“Mummy had some work to do that’s why. I’m so sorry baby. I promise it won’t happen again.
“Promise?
“I promise. Now look what I got I for you” She happily brought out two chocolate bars and hand one over to each of them. The youngest one took hers and took off to her room to continue watching her cartoon.
“You know how cranky Emily gets when she doesn’t see you. What took you so long sis?” Susan asked her sister with a suspicious look on her face.
“Before you lie. I already went to check on you in the club and the manager said they’ve not seen you since you sign in last night.
“What?! You went to the club? What’s wrong with you? Do you want to get yourself in trouble? Do you know how dangerous that place is for young girls like you? You’re just fifteen don’t ruin your life just like I did” She scolded her harshly.
“Am sorry sis but I had to. Emily was ready to bring down the house. She said and I quote “bring me my mommy or I burn down the whole house with you in it” those were exactly her words. I ain’t ready to go yet. That child of yours is too crazy for my liking” Susan said with a defeated expression.
“I know she can be a little scary at times but trust me she’d never do those things. She just love to scare people and the more you let her know you’re scared of her the more she manipulated you. So be careful and smart. She’s just seven” She dropped her bag on the couch with the papers and started pulling off her winter jacket. It’s three weeks to Christmas and New York is freezing. But the heater in the house made her feel hot.
Susan who was curious about what was inside the papers took them and started going through them without her sis consent.
“YOU GOT MARRIED!” She yelled in fright.
Melissa’s mouth went dry instantly.
Douglas smile as he watched his aunt dance around her ward in happiness. He had shown her his marriage certificate that he had gotten with Melissa this morning. He had literally dragged her to the courtroom to get married even though she had screamed and yelled for help. He had threatened to hurt her family if she didn’t comply so she gave in grudgingly.
Immediately it was finalize. He took her number and drove off. He came straight to the hospital to show his aunt who had immediately stood up to dance around her bed. When she was done she came to hug him and went back to her bed and took the certificate to look at it again.
“Just making sure isn’t that witch name that’s on it” She giggled at herself after seeing Melissa’s name and not Becky.
Tim sighed when he remembered Becky. How’s he going to explain to her that he got married to someone else after delaying theirs for months. She’s going to tear him to threads when she finds out.
It’s funny how his aunt is happy he got married to a total stranger instead of the woman she had know for almost three years. He wonders why she hates Becky so much. He had tried to find out in the past but she wouldn’t bulge. She’s a very hard nut to c***k.
“So when are you bringing her home? When am I going to meet her? How does she look? I bet she must be drop dead gorgeous. My son sure do have an eye for good things sometimes” She giggled excitedly as she spoke.
“What do you mean sometimes?
“Well. You dated Becky. That was a very bad choice so I guess you must have been drunk when you both met.
“How ironic” He said under his breath as he remembered his fake wife. He didn’t even know her name and they’re married. This is crazy. Everything about this whole thing is crazy. What if some sought of miracle happens and his aunt gets better how is he going to explain to her that he paid his secretary to get married to him to fool her. Well the doctor did say any chance of any recovery is slim because her disease is yet to be studied.
All he have to do is to explain things to Becky. He’s going to divorce the ugly duckling after three months and get married to her. All he wants is for his aunt to be happy in her remaining days. If marrying a lowlife would make her happy then he’s ready to marry all the lowlife in the world.
He just have to tolerate her for twelve weeks and that’s all. She’d be out of his life forever.
“I just pray she takes some morning pills to prevent any future mishaps” He mutter to himself.
Tomorrow he’s going to go get her and her family just as she had requested. He just prays her parents doesn’t have an issue with him or expect him to be nice towards them.
His interest is far from them.
In twenty four hours he’s going to be a married man. With in laws and all that gross family s**t.
“Oooh I can’t wait to see the look on that witch’s face when she sees your beautiful wife tomorrow” His aunt squealed like a child as she grinned sheepishly.
“Aunt stop it. Married or not I’d always love her.
“Who got married?” They heard a voice behind them
