Love rain 5
“Tae…”
At Sehee’s voice, Taehyung slowly turned to look at her.
“I don’t want this, Auntie… I really don’t.”
His voice trembled.
No matter how cold or intimidating Taehyung appeared on the outside, his heart was the complete opposite. Deep down, he was as gentle and innocent as a little child. To Nooya and Sehee, he would always be their precious little boy.
“Let’s talk, Tae.”
Sehee gently led him to the library—the very place where Nooya had spent most of her time the previous day. Located on the second floor, the library had a balcony overlooking the entire estate. It had always been Taehyung’s favorite place. Everyone knew that whenever something troubled him, he would quietly spend hours standing on that balcony.
That was exactly why Sehee had brought him there.
“Listen, son… We would never force you to do something against your will. But this proposal makes both Nooya and me truly happy. That girl isn’t a stranger to us. She’s our sister's daughter. Besides… how long are you planning to live all alone?”
Taehyung lowered his head.
“I’ll marry anyone you and Mom choose for me. But… not her. She’s Jeon's daughter. The daughter of the man who murdered my father… the man responsible for the condition my mother is in today.”
Sehee sighed softly before speaking again.
“But, Tae… that child isn’t responsible for any of it. She was barely a year old when everything happened. She’s innocent. How could she possibly be blamed for her father’s sins?”
Her words left Taehyung speechless.
He stood there in silence for a few moments, lost in thought.
Finally, he spoke.
”…Alright. Do whatever you and Mom think is best.”
With those words, Taehyung quietly walked out of the library, leaving behind a relieved Sehee whose heart finally felt a little lighter.

After Jeon and Yura returned home, they told Saemi and Jungkook about the marriage proposal they had discussed with Taehyung.
Saemi couldn’t hide the sadness in her eyes.
For twenty-three years, she had lived like a prisoner. Now she was expected to spend the rest of her life beside a man she had never even met.
The thought terrified her.
Jungkook, on the other hand, hated the idea of handing over his only sister to a man who might marry her simply because their father wished it, not because he loved her.
Determined to protect her, he decided he would find out everything he could about Taehyung.

As usual, Saemi stood on the balcony, stretching out her hands into the gentle drizzle.
She had always loved the way tiny raindrops landed on her palms before splashing softly against her face.
“Mom… Did you know Dad found a marriage proposal for me?”
She smiled bitterly as she stared into the rain.
“I don’t even know who he is… or what kind of person he is.”
After a brief silence, she whispered,
“Should I accept it, Mom…? Maybe… maybe you’re the one who sent him to me.”
She continued talking to herself while watching the rain.
But before long, her thoughts were interrupted by Yura’s voice calling from downstairs.
“Saemi… dear.”
Saemi froze.
Yura had never addressed her so affectionately before.
She couldn’t understand why.
“What’s gotten into my stepmother?” she wondered as she walked back toward her room.
However, the moment she reached the doorway, she stopped.
Yura was standing there.
“Put on your best dress and come downstairs. Quickly.”
The warmth in Yura’s voice had vanished just as suddenly as it had appeared.
Fear gripped Saemi’s heart once again.
“O-Ok…”
After Yura left, Saemi changed into the prettiest dress she owned.
It was the dress Jungkook had given her as a birthday present the year before—her favorite one.
After carefully brushing her long hair, she slowly walked downstairs.
But halfway down the staircase…
She stopped.
Two unfamiliar faces were sitting in the living room.
