CHAPTER 9 Cain’s POV Before Ava could counter what I had said, Mara came in through the beaded curtains, her eyes curiously darting from me to Ava. “Hey, you done in the garage?” I turned my gaze away from Ava, settling it on Mara. “No. I came for my sauce.” I replied, locking my eyes back on Ava, but she immediately avoided my gaze while she pretended to clean the wine glasses. Mara leaned forward, lowering her voice, “I thought we agreed you’d eat your meals without it,” “Turns out bland food disgusts me more than I imagined.” “Cain…” Mara pressed.
