CHAPTER 26 Cain’s POV The underground room fell silent the moment I shut the steel door behind me. Rocco was already relaxed on one of the worn leather couches, one ankle resting over his knee while two of his men stood like statues behind him. “So why am I here, Cain?” he asked lazily, scratching his beard. “Couldn’t really think of a reason you’d call me.” He glanced over his shoulder. “Today isn’t Friday, is it?” he asked one of his men. The biker shook his head. “No, Boss.” Rocco looked back at me. “See? Not Friday.” I crossed one leg over the other and settled into the couch opposite him. Grim took his place behind me alongside Knox, Rafe and the others. I hadn’t wanted them down here. But they’d insisted. Grim especially. He knew exactly how unpredictable Rocco could be.
