Chapter 9: Seth
By the way Mrs. Canada jokes over dinner about the sights they missed during the day, Seth knows she isn’t mad at them any longer. She even organizes a little trip at the pub for the rest of the band. None of the freshmen want to come along—Thad and Peter both claim they didn’t have much fun the first time, and Jamie seems interested until he hears Thad isn’t going, and then he bails. Mark’s sitting in the lounge with Jamie, and when he hears the word pub, he jumps up as if goosed. “Canada’s coming,” Seth warns him.
“I won’t let her ruin my good time,” Mark says.
Though the outing is impromptu, it still feels scripted, with the other band members shoving each other aside as they try to get the bartender’s attention, and Mrs. Canada puts the kibosh on booze right up front
