KITTY HENDERSON After the scream, there was an eerie silence that settled over the house. The children, Kaden, Jaden, and Sophia, sat at the dining table, their previous happiness replaced by uncertainty and concern. It was only a matter of minutes before Isabella, her face flushed with anger, descended the grand staircase with a stormy expression. She barely acknowledged the children and me, her steps purposeful as she walked past us and out of the mansion. Sofia tried to call her "Mommy.." But Isabella ignored her. The tension in the room was palpable, and her exit left an unsettling feeling in its wake. The children exchanged nervous glances, and I couldn't help but be curious. Just when I thought the situation couldn't get more perplexing, Lorenzo descended the stairs as well, dressed in a sharp suit that emphasized his imposing presence. The children's faces lit up as he approached, and they eagerly ran to greet him. He briefly acknowledged me with a nod and a polite, "Hello, Kitty." My gaze met his, and I couldn't even sense any emotion. "Good afternoon Lorenzo." As he hugged each of the children in turn, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and compassion radiating from him. His love for his kids was evident in every gesture and word. Once he had embraced Sophia, the last of the children, he turned his attention to me. "I hope everything has been going well with the children." I nodded. "They've been wonderful" "Okay then" He said and walked out. About an hour later, The kids and I went outside to play. Laughter echoed through the air as we played games . Kaden, Jaden, and Sophia were so full of energy , As we ran around the garden, Kaden looked at me with a mischievous grin. "Kitty, you're so fast! Can you catch us?" I chuckled and replied, "I'll do my best, Kaden! But you three are quick runners, too." Jaden, added, "We'll go easy on you, Kitty!" With a wink, I said, "Alright, let's see who's the fastest!" And with that, we were off, racing through the garden with sheer delight. After a game of tag, we made our way to the pool , I began to help Sofia wear her swim suit and after a lot of play, I was finally done helping her wear it. As I reached for Kaden and Jaden's swimsuits to help them get dressed, I noticed that the two boys exchanged a mischievous glance. Kaden, spoke up, "Kitty, we're big boys. We can do it ourselves." Jaden nodded in agreement, his face displaying a determination that matched his brother's. " Yeah, we don't need help, Kitty." I couldn't help but smile at their newfound independence. "Well, I suppose you are big boys," I said, "but if you ever need any help, don't hesitate to ask."Kaden, always the older brother and eager to demonstrate his capabilities, held up his swimsuit with a triumphant grin. "Don't worry, Kitty. We've got this." where the glistening water beckoned us. The children eagerly jumped in, and I watched them sitting from the chair. Sophia, her eyes filled with excitement, splashed some water and giggled, "Kitty, you're in the splash zone!" I laughed and playfully retaliated, sending a gentle spray of water her way. "Oh, Sophia, I think you're in the splash zone now!" The pool became a haven of fun and laughter. We swam, splashed, and shared stories as we floated on the water. Jayden, unable to contain his enthusiasm, swam up to me and said, "Kitty, you're the best nanny ever!" My heart warmed at his words, and I ruffled his wet hair affectionately. "Thank you, Jayden. I'm so lucky to have the best kids to take care of." Kaden, floating nearby, chimed in, "Kitty, you're like part of our family now." I smiled at him and replied, "That means the world to me, Kaden. You're all very special to me." As we continued to enjoy our time in the pool, Kaden and Jayden hatched a plan to surprise me. With sly grins, they worked together to create a wave of water that splashed right onto me. I let out a playful scream, pretending to be shocked, and exclaimed, "Oh no, you got me!" Their laughter filled the air as they celebrated their successful water assault. The day had been filled with laughter, splashing in the pool, and carefree moments with Kaden, Jayden, and Sophia. As the sun dipped below the horizon, signaling the end of our outdoor adventures, we headed indoors for dinner. Sitting around the dining table, we enjoyed a hearty meal. The children chatted about their day and shared their excitement about the next day's plans. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and I couldn't help but ask, "Will Isabella and Lorenzo be joining us for dinner tonight?"Kaden looked at me with a hint of sadness in his eyes. "No, Kitty. It's been a while since they ate with us."Jayden nodded in agreement. "Yeah, they're always so busy." I just smiled and decided not to say anything. After dinner, I tucked the kids into bed and after reading them a bedtime story, they all slept and I came out of the room. Just as I was about to step inside my room, the door to the hallway creaked open, and Lorenzo stumbled in, clearly intoxicated. The smell of alcohol hung in the air, and his usual stoic demeanor had given way to a disheveled and bewildered appearance. As I stood in the hallway, stunned by Lorenzo's intoxicated state, he slowly turned his gaze toward me, his icy gray eyes clouded by the effects of alcohol. "Kitty, is that you?" He slurred out I replied softly, concern in my voice, "Yes, it's me, Lorenzo. Are you okay?" Lorenzo seemed to struggle to maintain his balance, and his words were muddled. "I've had a rough day, Kitty. It's all falling apart." I took a step closer to him, worried about his well-being "Lorenzo, maybe you should sit down and rest." He ignored my suggestion and continued to mutter. "Isabella... she's driving me to this. I don't know what to do anymore." I couldn't help but feel a twinge of empathy for the man standing before me, his vulnerability laid bare in his drunken state. "Lorenzo, perhaps it's best to talk about this when you're feeling better." But Lorenzo's emotions were in turmoil, and he needed an outlet for his pain. "I've lost control, Kitty. Everything is slipping through my fingers." I didn't know how to respond to his confession, as the gravity of the situation weighed heavily on my shoulders. "Let's get you to your room, Lorenzo. You can rest there." Suddenly he leaned in and I leaned in too staring into his grey eyes and then his lips met mine. It felt good even though it was wrong. Soon we found ourselves in my room, removing clothes and kissing feverishly.
