KITTY HENDERSON
I woke up to the faint light of dawn filtering through the curtains, and as my eyes adjusted to the room, I noticed Lorenzo standing by the bed, holding his head as if nursing a headache. I greeted him softly, concern in my voice.
"Good morning, Lorenzo. Are you feeling alright?"
Lorenzo turned to me, his icy gray eyes filled with anger and frustration.
"Alright? No, I'm not alright. Do you realize what you've done?" He said
I sat up in surprise, my heart racing. "I don't understand, Lorenzo. What are you talking about?"
He spat out his words like venom, accusing me of actions I couldn't believe he was blaming me for
"You seduced me, Kitty. You took advantage of me last night. You're a seducer, a bad person."
His words stung like a slap in the face, and I felt a surge of anger rising within me.
"How can you say that, Lorenzo? We both made that choice together. You can't put all the blame on me."
Lorenzo's face contorted with anger, and he continued his tirade.
"You're just a nanny, and you've crossed a line. You're nothing but trouble."
I could hardly believe the harsh words that were pouring from Lorenzo's mouth, his accusations growing more venomous by the second.
"You took advantage of the fact that we were both drunk! You realized what you were doing, seducing a man who's married. You've made me cheat on my wife, Kitty. You're nothing but a homewrecker."
His words were like daggers to my heart, each one inflicting a new wound. I felt anger and frustration welling up inside me, but beneath it all, I was hurt.
"I didn't take advantage of anyone, Lorenzo. We were both responsible for our actions. I never wanted this to happen."
Lorenzo's face twisted in disdain, his voice dripping with scorn.
"You're a disgrace, Kitty.
Tears welled up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I couldn't let his hurtful words break me.
I couldn't bear to listen to his hurtful words any longer. In a moment of anger and frustration, I lashed out, slapping him across the face.
"Don't you ever call me such names! I may be a nanny, but that doesn't give you the right to insult me like this. We're both responsible for our actions."
Lorenzo recoiled from the unexpected slap, his anger momentarily replaced by surprise. I took a deep breath, my emotions running high, and continued.
"We're adults. We made a choice, and we'll have to face the consequences. But I won't stand here and let you degrade me like this."
As Lorenzo stormed out of the room in anger, leaving me bewildered and hurt, I knew I had to pull myself together. I couldn't let his harsh words break me. My job was to take care of the children, and that's what I intended to do.
Heading to the children's rooms, I found them wide awake, their innocent eyes filled with concern. Kaden, Jayden, and Sophia all looked at me with worried expressions.
"Kitty, are you okay? You don't look happy." Kaden asked.
"Yeah, you look sad. Did something happen?" Jaden added.
Sophia, her blue eyes big and full of empathy, joined in. "Kitty, what's wrong?"
I smiled weakly, trying to reassure them. "Don't worry, kids. I'm just a little tired this morning. I'll be fine."
Kaden, always the observant one, wasn't entirely convinced. "Are you sure, Kitty?."
I knelt down to their level and gently patted his head. "I promise, I'm okay. Sometimes grown ups have bad days too, but it doesn't mean we won't take care of you."
As I tried to change the subject and bring a smile back to their faces, I asked, "So, did you big boys and big girl brush your teeth this morning?"
Kaden, Jayden, and Sophia all chimed in, their voices filled with enthusiasm.
"Yes, Kitty! We brushed them really well!" Kaden said.
"We're big boys, so we can do it all by ourselves now." Jaden added
Sophia, not one to be left out, added proudly, "I'm a big girl too, Kitty!"
I couldn't help but smile at their excitement and sense of independence. "That's wonderful to hear! You're all growing up so fast."
As the kids were engrossed in watching Moana in the sitting room, Lorenzo silently made his way downstairs. With an emotionless expression, he leaned in close and whispered, "Miss Kitty, you have to promise me you'll keep last night a secret."
At first, I couldn't find the words to respond. The weight of the situation settled on my shoulders. It was a moment before I replied, "Um, I don't know what to say..."
Determined and emotionlessly , Lorenzo continued, "Kitty, it's crucial. You can't tell anyone about what happened." He said leaving no room for argument.
I reluctantly agreed, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Fine, Lorenzo. I promise."
Without a hint of emotion, he produced a contract, placing it in front of me. My eyes widened as I read the terms. It stated that if I ever revealed what had transpired, I would be obligated to pay five million dollars.
Bewildered by the severity of the contract, I looked up at Lorenzo. "Five million dollars? Is this really necessary?"
His expression remained unyielding as he spoke coldly, "Kitty, it's a must. I can't afford any leaks or risks."
With a heavy heart, I took the pen he offered and signed the contract, sealing our secret and our pact.
As I finished signing the contract, Lorenzo turned to leave, his demeanor cold and distant. I mustered up the courage to call him back, my voice tinged with awkwardness.
"Lorenzo, are you going to eat anything?"Lorenzo turned back to face me, and without a hint of warmth, he replied, "No, Miss Kitty and it's Mr Bianchi to you. I have nothing to do with you anymore, except when it concerns the kids."
Just then Isabella walked into the room. She kissed Lorenzo,As Isabella greeted me, I managed a polite smile and said, "Hi, Isabella."
Isabella returned the greeting, "Hi, Kitty. How have you been?"
I replied, "I'm good, thank you."
"Do you want to eat anything, Isabella?"
She shook her head and replied, "No, I'm fine. I just want to rest."
With that, Isabella excused herself to spend time with Lorenzo, leaving me with a mix of emotions.
