The plane ticket lay between us, like it had weight. Alexander stared at it for a second, then at me, then back at the ticket again. His face shifted, expression darkened, really fast. "Aurora..." My stomach tightened right away. Like my body knew before my brain did. I tried to steady myself. "It’s not what you think." But the words came out thin even to me.
