Chapter 15: The Unbroken Queen Panic ripped through the ten-thousand-man war camp like a wildfire. Warriors who had spent their entire lives boasting of their physical strength and military dominance dropped to their knees, clutching their heads as the divine dragon aura crushed their wolf spirits into submission. The horses screamed and broke through their wooden pens, trampling supply tents as they fled toward the southern hills. "Form ranks!" Grand Alpha Vance bellowed, his voice cracking with unheard-of terror as he raised his massive sword toward the sky. "Archers! Aim for her wings! Kill her!" A hundred elite wolf archers stepped forward, their hands shaking violently as they notched heavy iron-tipped war arrows. They pulled their bowstrings back and released—a cloud of black arrows streaked through the air, aimed straight for Seraphina’s heart! Seraphina didn't even bother to move. She simply flexed her core. A thin, shimmering barrier of superheated golden light flared around her body. The moment the iron arrows touched the barrier, they instantly vaporized into clouds of red dust before they could even brush her armor. The archers dropped their bows in sheer disbelief, stepping backward in terror. "Is that all?" Seraphina asked softly, her melodic voice carrying clearly over the silent camp. She drifted down through the air, her boots touching the muddy ground at the center of the camp. The moment her feet made contact with the earth, a ring of golden dragon fire expanded outward, instantly drying the sea of mud into hard, clean stone for a hundred yards around her. The wolf warriors scrambled backward, creating a massive, terrified circle around her. Grand Alpha Vance stepped into the circle, his broadsword trembling in his massive hands. Sweat poured down his face. "Who... what are you?" Seraphina looked at the Grand Alpha, her glowing amethyst eyes completely unbothered by his size or status. "I am Seraphina. Once an omega servant of the Bloodmoon Pack. Now, the Empress of the Dragon Realm." She turned her gaze slowly, looking past Vance toward the leather war tent where Victoria and Kaelen were cowering behind a group of trembling guards. When Victoria met Seraphina’s gaze, her knees finally gave out entirely. She fell into the dirt, clutching her white mink cloak around her shivering shoulders. "Kaelen... protect me..." she whimpered, her voice pathetic and hollow. Kaelen didn't move. He stood frozen by the tent entrance, staring at Seraphina with a tragic, broken expression. The gray rot of the Rejector's Curse had now covered his entire face, turning his skin into a horrifying mask of decay. He could feel his inner wolf clawing desperately at his mind, screaming at him to throw himself at her feet and beg for mercy. Seraphina walked past Grand Alpha Vance, ignoring the giant wolf as if he didn't exist. She stopped five feet in front of Victoria and Kaelen. "You brought ten thousand men to kill me, Victoria," Seraphina said, her voice dripping with cold, majestic authority. "You told them I was a monster coming to devour their families." "Seraphina... please..." Victoria sobbed, crawling forward on her hands and knees in the dirt, all her pride and elegance completely gone. "We were sisters! We grew up in the same house! I was wrong! It was Kaelen! Kaelen forced me to treat you like that!" Kaelen gasped, looking at Victoria in utter shock. "Victoria... what...?" "He made me do it!" Victoria shrieked, pointing a shaking, dirty finger at Kaelen. "He hated you because you had no wolf! He wanted my father's army! Spare me, Seraphina! I will be your servant! I will scrub your floors!" Seraphina looked down at the crawling, pathetic female, feeling no anger—only a deep, profound pity for how small and cowardly her former abuser truly was. "I do not need a servant, Victoria," Seraphina said softly. "And I do not need your lies." Seraphina extended her right hand, her palm glowing with a faint, golden flame. She didn't strike Victoria. Instead, she pointed her finger toward the sky. The colossal black dragon above let out a deafening roar that shattered the glass lanterns across the entire camp! Ignis descended from the cliff, landing directly behind Seraphina with a impact that shook the ground, his massive black wings sweeping forward to cloak her in a protective shadow. Seraphina looked out over the ten thousand kneeling wolf warriors, her voice booming across the valley: "Hear me, wolves of the Southern Packs!" Seraphina declared, her voice carrying the absolute authority of a divine ruler. "The Dragon Realm has no interest in your land, your cattle, or your petty pack feuds! But if any pack ever raises a blade against my realm again... I will burn your territories to ash!" She pointed her finger down at Victoria and Kaelen. "These two brought you here on a foundation of lies to cover their own dishonor," she continued. "I leave their punishment to the divine law of the Rejector's Curse. Their rot is their own." Grand Alpha Vance looked at Kaelen’s decaying face, then at Victoria crawling in the mud, and finally up at the magnificent Dragon Empress standing beside the terrifying Dragon Sovereign. Vance dropped his sword to the stone. He fell to one knee, bowing his head in complete submission. "The Coalition yields to the Dragon Empress!" Behind him, ten thousand war-wolves dropped their weapons, falling to their knees in a massive, roaring wave of absolute surrender. Seraphina turned to Ignis, meeting his glowing amethyst eyes. A soft, breathtaking smile graced her lips—the smile of a woman who was no longer running, no longer hiding, and forever unbroken. Ignis held out his hand to her. "Shall we return to the sky, my Queen?" Seraphina placed her hand in his, her massive obsidian wings unfolding behind her in a glorious burst of golden fire. "Let us go home." Together, the two sovereigns leapt into the heavens, leaving behind the broken ruins of their past and soaring into a future that belonged entirely to them.
