“Kade?" I rasped, tapping lightly on his office door. He had locked himself in his office once again after the ill confrontation with Detective Morren. Hearing nothing but silence on the end of the door, I let out a stressed breath. I was sure I was the last person he wanted to speak to about what had just happened, but still I found myself knocking at the door once more. “Kade. Let me in," I spoke louder this time.
