Mia Bruises fade with time. The scars that form beneath the wounds, they kept telling me those too would heal. But those scars somehow found a way to seep into my dreams, never letting me rest, never letting me forget. Waking every night covered in sweat from some new horror my mind brewed up was my personal hell.             They were always there, Kenny and Marcus, always in that dark room covered in graffiti. Sometimes I was strapped to the chair, sometimes unconscious on the stained mattress. The smell was always the same, as if my mind came back with a scent for heroin, and that’s what my dreams were filled with while Marcus or Kenny would torment me.             No matter how little I would eat the night before, my stomach still emptied into the toilet after every nightmare.
