The Next Day
Cafeteria was crowded, as always, during recess.
One special clique of nerds occupied the same table.
From this much larger group, five students were sat right at the very end. There was some space between them and the rest of the gang.
The five nerds wanted to discuss something else.
Just them, excluding the rest.
“Yup, he took my warning very seriously!!! He’s not here in the cafeteria!!!” Jamie commented in a whispery tone.
They were talking about Barry Norton, who was nowhere to be seen.
“Did he recognize it was you????” Shelley asked in a whispery tone.
“Recognize??? Are you kidding me!!!! How would he recognize his voice over the phone??? He hardly hangs out with any other kids in this school!!!” remarked Rob.
