Chapter 28
Barry looked around him.
He was safe.
He was inside his bedroom, surrounded by darkness.
He was breathing heavily.
He felt himself sweating.
He had a nightmare.
Another frightening nightmare.
One more frightening even than the one he had the night before.
He dreamt that he was someone else.
For some reason, he was aware that he dreamt as being another person and couldn’t really explain to himself why.
That he was some kind of hunter on the run.
That he ran to the water, to swim away.
For his life.
And that he was chased and killed by the same monster.
The very same one that killed those high school kids.
But he saw it changed.
From a bipedal feline humanoid to a snake-like giant humanoid.
A truly inhuman monstrosity.
