Chapter 8
Barry woke up.
Screaming.
Sweating.
He just had a nightmare.
The scariest nightmare he ever had.
He looked around him.
Darkness.
Silence.
His nightmare.
It all seemed real.
As if he was really there.
That it really happened.
He could still hear his own heart beating really fast.
His mind wandered for awhile.
His athletic physical sports training for an exhausted mind started kicking in.
He was breathing slowly.
He was trying to control his heart beat.
Stay focus!!!, he told himself.
His heart beat started slowing down.
He looked around him.
He remembered where he was.
He was in his bedroom.
His new bedroom.
In the new house they just moved in.
In the new town they now lived in.
His eyes were also starting to adjust to the dark.
He started remembering that this town was called New Sumer.
He remembered having dinner with his parents, before they got home.
His dad took them out for dinner.
In the town’s local restaurant.
His entire family had been greeted by other customers who were sitting inside and eating as well.
All adults. No kids were there.
There were no one who could have been a high school teenager.
Except for Barry.
He was partly bored.
That is, if he could not have been to have at least enjoyed his own dinner.
Then he realized something.
He wasn’t alone.
Someone else was in the room with him.
