Kelsea's POV ~
It's been a week already, and nothing much has changed. I and Shane kept avoiding each other, after that passionate kiss we shared. We weren't even in the same place for more than a minute. Helen and Kate were super cool and friendly to speak with. I spoke to Maddie and Skyla whenever I got a thing to share with them. On the other side, Elijah was super helpful grabbing my stuff from my apartment and he was such a great guy. But one thing I came to know from his sister was, he was such a playboy who always roams and fools around with a bunch of girls. Lucky or unlucky, I haven't seen him with any girl in this whole week and Kate and Helen were really astounded by the fact that he hasn't slept with a girl for a week. I'm really surprised to see people who seem totally different from the image other people fed us about them. After having my tasty morning breakfast made specially by Helen and her personal maid, I walked to my room aka Shane's room, that I'm using to stay for a while. I'm very grateful for everything Helen and Kate did for me. They are actually looking out for me like I'm their own family. And finally, I'm happy to feel things that a person with a family would actually feel like.
I smiled as I dug through the pile of my dress to wear one for my appointment with my doctor. Yea, today is the day, my doctor asked me to visit her for a quick test on my nutrition levels. Thank God, Skyla is coming with me, if it wasn't her then I don't think I would be able to handle it alone. I sighed as I walked into the bathroom. I took a quick shower and got ready in a simple off-shoulder floral dress and paced out of my room.
Buzz Buzzz…
My phone rang and it was Skyla. "Hey, Sky. I'm ready, when will you get here?", I asked and there wasn't any reply from her for a second. "Uh… I'm sorry, Si… I don't think I'll be able to make it with you today...", she dragged her words and I kinda felt scared at the thought of me going to my appointment alone. I didn't know what to tell her. Not that I'm mad at her but my mind was empty and I wasn't sure if I could manage alone there. And then, I remembered him… Tristan… He should be the one accompanying me to our baby's appointments… And he left me all alone to die in this pain. He didn't even bother to share this wonderful moment with our baby instead he blamed us. Ah… just forget about him, Kelsea, he is an ass****!! His thoughts made the situation even worse. "I am very sorry… I didn't really expect an emergency call from my boss today…", by her tone, I know how bad she felt for doing this to me and I completely understand her situation. "Oh, don't worry about it. I think I can manage, it's just a regular appointment", I assured her, even though I had a lot of second thoughts about going for the appointment today. "Thanks dear, call me once you are done with your appointment", I agreed to her and cut off the call.
I walked downstairs and I saw Helen sitting on the couch. "Hey, Kelsea. Oh, ready for your appointment?", she asked and I smiled with a nod. "Apparently, yes", she left her coffee mug on the table stand and got up from the couch. "Kelsea, it has just been a week and I don't think it's safe enough for you and your baby to go alone without our men. Do you think you and your friend can handle this?", she asked and I looked at her, hesitantly. "Uh, my friend just called me and she isn't joining me for my appointment. I guess it's only me…", I finished my sentence and she shook her head. "Okay, now definitely you're not going alone", she warned and took a look around. "Elijah, a minute?", she called Elijah who just walked past us, discussing something serious with his men in black. "Yea, Maa. Can I help you with something?", he asked her as he waved at me, giving me his charming smile. "I want you to accompany Kelsea to her doctor appointment. I don't think her going out alone is a good idea", she asked and his look dropped to the floor as he scratched the back of his neck. "Uh… maa…Sure but... I don't know a single thing about this doctor stuff, will you be tagging along with us?", He asked and she shook her head for a no. "No son, I'm meeting with your grandma now. You know how grumpy she can get at times when I'm changing the plans with her", she said and quickly discussed a few things with her son, getting back to all whispering mode with him.
After which Elijah walked to me. "So, shall we go, honey?", he asked with his super cute smile pinned on his lips. "Sure…", I and Elijah walked out of their house after spending one whole week inside which kinda felt exciting. But the thought of meeting with the doctor alone without Skyla took back that excitement.
After a few minutes of drive between the super guarded cars, we reached the hospital. "Honey, I'm kinda not familiar with this scenario earlier… but I can assure that I will be by your side if you need me", his words sounded relieved and I really appreciated the effort he was putting in to make me comfortable. Even though it was pretty weird to have him around me during my maternal check ups, a part of me really liked to have a manly support during this moment. While waiting for my gynecologist, he asked me a few basic details about my pregnancy, things like health, medications and cravings etc… I was really happy to share with him all that stuff which I never thought I'd feel comfortable sharing. My gynecologist walked in after 15 long minutes of having us wait. "Hey, young lady, how are you feeling today?", she asked as she flipped the sheet of her notepad in her hand. "A bit nauseated and super tired...", I explained every terrible thing I was going through as she took notes of it. "Alright, these are pretty normal now. Oh, hi, it's good to finally meet the baby's father", she waved at Elijah who was sitting at me with bulged eyes as he listened to my pregnancy problems. Hearing her words, his eyes widened in shock and so is mine. "Whose baby's father...." I squealed in a shocked pitch.
