The Secret

724 Words
After a lovely day at the strawberry farm, Ryan and Myra left for home. They talked about many things, but Myra seemed to be worried about something. While driving home, Ryan noticed something was bothering her and he asked, 'Is everything okay, Myra? You know you can tell me if something is on your mind.' Myra was in a dilemma about whether it was too early to tell Ryan about Emma, as her safety meant everything to her. Ryan asked again, 'Hey Myra, are you okay? I know we hardly know each other, but if there is anything bothering you, I would love to help.' Myra said, 'Well, there is, but now is not the right time for that.' Soon they reached the town, and Ryan offered to drop her home as it was quite late. Myra insisted on being dropped where her car was parked and made an excuse that she needs the car early in the morning as she needs to go to a friend's place. Myra was just trying to protect her family and child and didn't want him to know where she lived or about Emma until she was confident and felt she could trust him. Ryan parked the car near Myra's car, got out, asked Myra to wait, walked towards her side, gently opened the door, and helped her. They then started walking together towards Myra's car. Ryan asked her, 'So when do I get to see you again?' Myra blushed and said, 'Whenever you plan our next adventure.' Ryan smiled and said, 'I can't wait to see you again. Thank you again for forgiving me for yesterday and agreeing to meet me today. I had the best time in your company.' Myra smiled and said to Ryan, 'Thank you for today. I was a bit disappointed when you cancelled yesterday, but today was amazing.' Ryan then opened the car door for her, and they kissed. Ryan gently placed another kiss on her forehead and said, 'Till next time, Myra. Please drop me a text once you reach home.' They said their goodbyes, and Myra got into her car and drove away. She looked at Ryan in the rearview mirror until he got into his car and left. Myra couldn't stop blushing and smiling, thinking about Ryan while driving home. Once she reached home and opened the door, she saw her parents and Emma sitting in the living room, watching TV. Seeing her smile, her parents and Emma started smiling. Emma got up, started jumping, and said, 'Mommy, Mommy, how was your date?' Myra and her parents started laughing. She asked her parents, 'You told her?' Her mother said, 'Yes, she is my little curious doll and wanted to know where you went. I literally had to stop her a few times from calling you and bothering you. While Emma held her hands and kept jumping and asking questions: 'How was it, mommy? Where did you go? Did you have ice cream? Who is the guy? Tell me, mommy, tell me.' Myra started laughing and said, 'No, I did not have ice cream. How can I without my doll? We will have ice cream together, all of us, right now. I did have strawberries, though - lots of them. We went to a farm and picked them and also got you strawberries. We will have them with our big bowls of ice cream,' and everyone started laughing. After Emma went to bed, her mother asked her, 'So tell me, how was it?' And Myra said, 'Mom, it was just magical. He is a great guy, and I like him, but it's too early to say.' Her mother asked her if she had told him about Emma, and Myra responded, 'Not yet, mom. It's too early to share this with him. He is a great guy, but I need to get to know him better first. After knowing, if he still wishes to, saying it would be great. If not, we will just move on.' Myra's mother held her hand and said, 'I understand, my child. We just want to see you happy, and I hope you don't wait too long to tell him.' Myra hugged her mother, said goodnight, and texted Ryan as promised that she was home. She thanked him for a lovely date and went to bed.
