I mind linked the pack doctor so that he was already waiting for us outside, ready to take Christa in and work on her. We finally pull up to the packhouse, and I jump out of the SUV, quickly unbuckling Christa and carrying her out of the vehicle.
“Quick, where do you want her?”
“Hurry! Follow me! I have room 13 set up for surgery and the nurses are waiting inside.” He says rushing next to me as I race to the room he’s prepped.
I quickly but gently lay her on the table, kissing her forehead and whispering in her ear, “you’re going to be ok, my love, I promise!” I say as I pull away from her.
Everyone around me was moving so fast, and yet I feel as if it is all in slow motion.
I see the doctor coming in after washing his hands and putting his gloves on, ready as the nurse
