Chapter 8

Eliza POV

I was spending the day with my friend Monika, and we decided to head to the mall to do some shopping like we usually do. Monika and I have been friends for like ever! We basically grew up together, and I love the b***h! We’re walking through the food court when she all of a sudden stops. She ends up saying through her teeth seething,

”That f*****g b***h what the hell is she doing here?”

”Who are you talking about?”

”My mate's sister, Christa!”

I have no idea who she is talking about, but she angrily walks over to a table and yells out,

”What the hell are you doing here, Christa? Shouldn’t you be at home? Where you belong!”

I realize it's that human b***h who is trying to steal my mate from me! And now, not only do I know her name, but I know who her brothers are and where she lives. Not only that, my best friend is her brother's mate, and she hates the slut as much as I do! This couldn’t be more perfect!

Then I notice Amanda, Eli’s sister, steps in for Christa. f**k, I’m going to have to be careful about how I go about getting rid of the w***e. After Christa takes off, Monika and I continue making our way through the mall.

”Do you want to head over to my place? I have something important to talk to you about, but we need to do it in private.”

”Uh, sure. We have to make it quick, though, because I have to put that human back in her place!”

”Oh, don’t worry, it’ll be worth your time. She can wait!”

We head back to the packhouse, which is basically a mansion! It's huge, it has more than 20 rooms, 3 floors. The top floor is a mansion on its own reserved only for the Alpha. That's where I am staying. Unfortunately, he put me in his guest suite that is across the hall from his main bedroom suite. The second floor is the living quarters for Alpha's Beta and Gamma, basically the second and third in command. The second floor has two separate living quarters and the first floor houses the Omega’s. They are the help, I consider them the lowest of the low, but the Alpha treats them as equals. Once I become Luna, that is going to change and this whole place will all be mine soon!

We reach my suite and I close and lock the door behind me. I look at Monika with a sinister smile on my face.

”We have an interesting situation on our hands.”

Monika looks at me with a questioning look on her face as she sits on my sofa in the main room.

”What the hell are you talking about?”

”Well, I wasn't planning on telling anyone about this, but since you hate that human slut as much as I do, I figured we could work together!”

”Eliza, get to the f*****g point already. You always have to be so dramatic. How do you know the human and what weren’t you planning on telling me? Your best friend?”

”Ugh, don’t be such a b***h! I’m telling you now so get over it!” Monika rolls her eyes at me and I continue.

”Anywho, that human of yours just so happens to be Eli’s, true mate!” I pause for dramatic effect. Monika’s face turns to disgust.

”What the f**k? How in the hell did that happen? That's impossible! She is a f*****g human?” She snaps back.

”I know. That's what I thought but I happened to overhear Eli talking to Amanda, his sister, telling her that she was his true mate! She's the one you saw her with who spoke up for her!”

”Well, f*****g s**t!” She gets up and begins pacing, ”There is no way I’m going to allow a human, especially her, who is a worthless piece of s**t to become a f*****g Luna for our pack, let alone Eli’s mate! I don’t think so, over my dead body!”

”I know right! The b***h is trying to steal my mate and my place as Luna! We have to get rid of her for good!” Monika sits back down on the sofa. She sits quietly, thinking to herself, nodding. Finally, she speaks up.

”I agree! She has to go, but we need to be smart about this! No one can trace it back to us otherwise it'll all be for nothing! Not only will I lose my mate, but Alpha will f*****g kill us if we're caught.”

”Yes, you are my f*****g girl!”

”I also know something about her that makes her weaker than the average human and we can use it to our advantage!”

”Oh, please. Do tell!” I say as I sit down next to her completely focused on what she has to tell me.

”Christa has an illness that makes her body even more fragile than anyone else! She has a disease that is slowly fusing her spine and joints, so even a small fall could potentially fracture her spine. If she has a bad enough fall or has an accident serious enough, her spine would snap and kill her! It would be so easy to cause her to have an ’accident,’ and no one would even think twice!”

”Oh, you are so bad! I love it!” I say, all giddy, clapping my hands and bouncing on the sofa, ”Now we just have to plan her ’accident’!” I start laughing excited to start planning Christa’s death!

I get up from the sofa and walk over to the kitchen and grab a couple of wine glasses. I fill them both with wine and walk back to Monika and hand her her glass as I sit down next to her.

”Here’s to becoming Luna and being Eli’s mate!”

”And getting rid of the pathetic human bitch.” Monika adds. We clink our glasses and start planning Christa’s death.

**Eli**

I was supposed to go to the library and convince Christa to have lunch with me again. Unfortunately, we had a bad situation on our hands with rogues coming onto our territory and attacking members of our pack.

As Alpha, I had to respond to the situation, and as much as I hated having to miss Christa for lunch, I had to deal with the problem! Normally, rogues tend to be lone wolves, some lead regular lives without causing problems, and the rogues that get banished from their packs end up killing mercilessly and they tend to work alone. These rogues are working together and have been attacking different packs. The weakest ones are being slaughtered until their Alpha is killed. Then they move on. They’re working their way up, and now they have made their way to my territory. I have been sending other Alpha’s my help and sending extra warriors to their territories to help. I have also doubled my border patrols, but somehow, they keep getting through. My warriors are the best out there, but I have had to call in my best of the best warriors, Pete and Chase Adams. They have been working with me in wolf form going after the rogues that have made it past my patrols. My wolf Simon has been too anxious, and he’s been taking it out on the rogues we find.

”We need to be with mate right now, not dealing with rogues!”

”I know, but we can’t allow them to get close to the center of our territory! We have to protect our pack!”

”I know it. I just don't like it; we can’t protect, mate!”

”Amanda is my best warrior, she's taking care of our mate. She'll be ok. Let's take care of these rogues quickly so we can get back to her!”

Five rogues quickly surround us, but they’ll need more than that for this to be a challenge. I quickly and effortlessly s***h the throat of one wolf, and his body turns back into human form. Three more wolves come at me, the first one comes at my throat, but I sidestep him right before he reaches me and rip out his throat; the second wolf jumps on my back while the third one comes at my front. I quickly switch to my human form to get him off my back causing the third one to miss me running into the second one. And switch back to my wolf form before they even realize what happened. They pause for a second confused. As a full blood Alpha, I am the only one who can change between my wolf form and my human form in seconds. I use their confusion to my advantage, and I once again effortlessly use my claws to s***h the second wolf's throat while simultaneously ripping off the third one's head. The last one takes off and I give chase. Unfortunately, he never had a chance to outrun me even with a head start. I catch up to him, jump on his back, and tear his head off of his body. His human form lays on the ground lifeless and headless. I look around at the c*****e around me. I get a mind link from Pete,

”Alpha, Chase, and I are surrounded. There's too many for us to take on!” I immediately start running towards them. I have to get to them. I can’t let anything happen to Christa’s brothers! I finally see them trying to fight off over a dozen wolves. Just as I get there Chase is overwhelmed. He has a wolf on top of him biting at his neck, one biting at his heels, while he tries to fend off a wolf at his front, trying to rip his throat out! He let out a loud yelp and fell to the ground. I let out a loud growl to take their attention off of him and he looked lifeless on the ground, not moving, and went back into his human form. I start taking on wolves myself. I mind link Pete and stand guard of Chase's body,

”There's too many; they're coming out of nowhere.”

We’re surrounded by a circle of wolves. I snarl, growl, and snap at them in an attempt to keep them at bay. I’m standing back to back against Pete as we protect Chase. Moving together in a circle. I mind link for more of my warriors as I realize I don't have enough warriors right now to take out the ones surrounding us. I’ve sent a large number of them to other Alpha’s who needed help! But I might have enough for right now if I play it smart!

”Opal Moon warriors, we're surrounded, and there are too many to take on. I need you to surround them from a distance, and when I give you the signal, come at them with all you’ve got!”

They all respond in my head at the same time,

”Yes, Alpha.”

I mind link Pete,

”On my order, I need you to take off running west, I’ll take off east.”

”What about Chase.”

”We have to try and lead them away. Do you trust me?”

”I trust you, Alpha.”

”NOW!”

We both take off our separate ways. I jump over 12 wolves while Pete bull doses through them. They start chasing after us. Once we get close to my warriors, I give the signal.

”Opal warriors, NOW!”

My warriors jump out from the trees as we reach them in a surprise attack. I have my warriors on all sides of us each taking on 3 or more wolves. I quickly start picking them off one by one with the help of my pack warriors. As they start thinning out, the rest take off, going back to where they came from. I turn back into my human form and I take off to find Chase. He's still on the ground bloodied and lifeless.

”f**k, please be ok!” I check his pulse but it's barely there!”

Pete comes up next to me, yelling out Chase’s name.

”Chase! f**k, Chase, please talk to me, buddy, please! Please, stay with us!”

I turn back into my wolf instantly and link Pete to put him on my back. As soon as he throws him on my back I race back to the packhouse hospital. I mind link the pack doctor to be ready for him. As soon as I get there, the doctor and nurses pull him off my back and immediately start working on him.

I’m covered in blood, some of it mine, a lot of it Chase’s, and most of it rogue. As I start coming down from the fight my Beta mind links me,

”Alpha we captured one of the rogues.”

”Good. Take him down to the dungeon for questioning. I’ll finish up here and I’ll meet you down there.”

I think about Christa as I start heading back. It seems that ever since we met, our mate bond is stronger than normal. I would have expected it to be much weaker since she's human, but it's just the opposite. I can already feel her emotions and I can feel the anxiety that she is experiencing right now. Even for werewolf mates, they have to mate and mark each other before their mate bond can be that strong. So I mind link my sister, Amanda.

”Hey Amanda, I was supposed to meet Christa today for lunch, and I’m worried about her. Would you go check on her, please? Make sure she's ok.”

”You got it, bro! I can’t wait to meet her and see who the lucky girl is to be mated to my favorite brother!” I shake my head.

”I’m your only brother. Please, take care of her while I handle these rogues!”

”Exactly! So you're my favorite!” She laughs hysterically, and all I can do is shake my head and smile,

”And don't worry, nothing will happen to her while I’m with her.”

”Oh, and Amanda, something happened to her brother. He's in the pack hospital now.”

”What the hell happened? Why didn't you call me?”

”Rogues, is what happened, a lot of them! I don't know how they got in. I’ll keep you updated; just keep her safe.”

I head up to my quarters and take a shower to wash all the blood off of me and change into my clothes. I head down into the dungeon that sits deep underneath the packhouse where we keep our prisoners. I reach the torture room where the prisoner is being held. My Beta Evan and my Gamma Seth are already with the prisoner. He’s sitting in a chair with silver chains around his feet and around each wrist on the arm of the chair. He's beaten and bloody, but I can see he still has a lot of fight in him. I slowly walk up to him as he glares at me. I stop directly in front of him, and I let out a low deep growl.

”You can make this easy on yourself and tell me who you are working with, and I’ll make your death quick and painless or, ” I say as I grab a knife made with silver, ”I can make this a long and painful death if you don’t give me the answers I’m looking for. It's your choice.” He looks up at me with hatred in his eyes and spits in my face.

”f**k you!” I shrug unfazed.

”I guess we're doing this the long and painful way!” I smile as I calmly wipe the spit and blood off my face.

I take the knife and stab him in the shoulder. He screams bloody murder from the pain. With silver, it takes much longer for our bodies to heal, so he’ll be feeling that for a while.

”Who are you working for?”

”Nobody!”

”Wrong answer.” I take the knife and stab it into his side. Again, he yells out.

”Let’s try this again. Who are you working for?” He begins to laugh like a maniac.

”He’s coming for you, and not even YOU can stop him!”

”Who is him?”

”Wouldn’t you like to know?” He laughs again and it causes him to start coughing. After he finishes, he spits out blood onto the floor.

This time I put the knife away and pick up another tool. This time a little saw that can cut through bone.

”Who is he, and what does he want?”

”I’m never going to tell you you d**k!” He flips me off. I take the saw and put it against his middle finger. He tried to fight me off to keep me from sawing it off, so I took all his fingers and broke them one by one until it was just his middle finger left and saw it off. His screams were blood-curdling this time.

”I can sit here and do this all day, rogue. I will take every finger off your body. When you're out of fingers I’ll move on to your toes. And afterward, I’ll inject you with wolfsbane; it will make you feel like you have fire spreading through your body, smoldering you from the inside out, and then very slowly, ” I point to his eyes, ”your eyes will begin to melt away, and then the rest of your organs. You’ll feel every single minute of it. It’ll take at least two days to kill you. So I’ll ask you one last time. Who is he, and what does he want?”

”You're a f*****g lunatic!”

I moved on to a finger. I just broke and saw it off.

”OKAY, ” he screams, ”OK, ok, I don't know his name! He's a Sigma werewolf. He’s the strongest werewolf I’ve ever seen!” He says, panting from the pain in tears.

”What. Is. His. Name?” I growl.

”I don’t know? I swear it. I was just a low level; we just followed orders! Please!” He starts begging me, ”Please, I’ve told you everything I know!”

I turn away from him and walk towards the door and tell Ethan to finish him. He yells out,

”Hey, asshole! If you have a mate, you might want to keep her close. He’ll find her, f**k her, and keep her as his slave just to f**k with you. I’m betting on him!” He says, smiling.

I turn around and let out a growl loud enough to shake the walls around us. That pisses Simon off and I instantly turn into my wolf form, Simon takes the front seat and everything becomes out of my control. Simon starts with his arms and rips him apart limb by limb; after ripping his arms and legs off, he’s still alive, but barely so, Simon takes his claws and rips open his stomach, spilling out his insides. His body pieces are all over the floor, his blood on the walls, and his guts hanging off the chair. I turn back into my human form and head back towards the door. I stop looking around the room and turn to look at Ethan.

”Get someone to clean this mess up; Ihave work to do!”
