Fighting For My Mate (18+)

Chapter 4

Eli POV 

     After my mate had run from me, I stood in front of the Library in shock. First, because my mate was human and it’s unheard of that a werewolf be paired with a human. Second, she ran from me! Never have I had a girl run away from me. Usually, I can't get them away from me. So this is a first for me. 

     Once I come to my senses, I head for the library door to look for my mate. I see an older woman sitting at a desk on a computer so I walk up to her.

”Ma’am, did you see a girl just come in here?”

”Oh, yes, that would be Christa! She just went into the back.” 

”Christa.” I whisper her name as it rolls right off my tongue. I love it. I start walking back to where the older woman said she was, but then she stops me.

”Oh, I’m sorry sir, you can't go back there. It's employees only.” She points at the signs. 

”So she works here?”

”Yes, would you like for me to leave a message for her?”

”No, thank you.”

I begin to walk away when an idea strikes me.

Actually, you know what? I’d like to sign up for a library membership! 

”Oh, fantastic! Let me just get the paperwork going and I will get you set up!” 

     I already knew everything I needed to know. I’ve come up with a plan to get closer to her. She's human, so she probably doesn't know werewolves exist. I’m going to have to be extremely careful about how I approach her. I don't want to scare her away. 

”Why did mate run away from us” Simon whines.

”Because she's a human, and she doesn't understand the mate pull.”

”But we need to mark our mate immediately so she can be safe!”

”Simon, we can't do that; we would scare her away and then lose our mate forever! We have to be careful with her.”

”But I love our mate!” He whimpers in the back of my mind.

”I know I love her too, but we can't lose her right when we’ve just found her!”

     I know she felt the mate pull between us; I could feel it. I’m going to have to court her like a normal human. Usually, for werewolves, once we find our mate, the pull is so strong that there is no need. We immediately mark and claim each other as mates. But this is an unusual circumstance. I can't tell anyone that I have found my mate. If anyone finds out it will put her in danger both because she's human and because she is my mate. She's in danger from regular wolves but especially she-wolves. Being the most powerful Alpha in North America with the largest and strongest pack, she-wolves would do anything to become my Luna, and I refuse to let anything happen to my mate!

     I get ready for bed that night, unable to take my mind off of how beautiful my mate is! I can still smell her on me. I plan on going back to the library tomorrow to try and run into her accidentally on purpose! 

     I have a hard time falling asleep tossing and turning until finally, exhaustion takes over me. I dream about my mate Christa. I dream about how beautiful her brown eyes are and how soft her chocolate brown hair must be. I started dreaming about how velvety soft her skin was and how it made my body tingle. I see her plump limps and think about how soft they would be against my own and what she would taste like. Before I know it, my dream becomes more vivid and it’s as if she’s actually here with me. I moan out as I feel her lips on my own and it’s the best thing I've tasted. She feels good. Christa starts to kiss down my neck and further down my chest. I begin to slowly wake up from my sleep! As I open my eyes, I see Eliza looking up at me with a sly smile on her face as if she’s pleased with herself. I jumped out of the bed as if I had just been burned!

”WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING, ELIZA?” I yell at her, furious. 

”What? You left your door unlocked and I thought that was an invitation for me to join you! You seemed to enjoy it by the looks of it!”

”Get out!” I say in a deadly calm voice. She has no choice but to listen to my command since I am using my Alpha voice. No wolf can resist my commands, and if they tried, it would mean they were challenging me, and we would fight to the death, and we all know I always win! 

    After she leaves, I lock the door behind her and immediately get into the shower to wash that vile woman off me. 

     Once I am finished my father tells me to meet him in the office. 

     After I get there my father, Alpha Michael, and that b***h Eliza is waiting for me in my office. 

**Eliza**

     I noticed Eli got in late so I decided to wait a while until I knew he was asleep. When I went to see him, I gently turned his door handle; I noticed it was unlocked. So I quietly snuck in and climbed into his bed with him. I have dreamed of this day I could be his Luna and become powerful! I could do anything with Eli at my side. I just have to get him to want me as much as I want him, and I will do anything I can to get my hands on him! Eli is MINE! Every woman will know he is MINE, and anyone who even looks at him wrong will die! I notice that he’s moaning in his sleep. I wonder if he’s dreaming about me? I’ll make him want me even more! So I decide to sneak into his room and carefully climb into his bed so I don't wake him up. I gently kiss his lips so that I can have a taste of him. I move down his neck, admiring his strong jawline as I move to his chest. I notice he begins to wake so I stop for a bit so that I don't arouse him from his sleep any more. Unfortunately, it’s not enough when he slowly opens his eyes and sees me in his bed, and he jumps out before I even realize what’s happening. 

”WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING, ELIZA?” 

”What? You left your door unlocked, and I thought that was an invitation for me to join you! You seemed to enjoy it by the looks of it!”

”Get out!” 

     I thought he would be pleased but instead, he is irate with me and it pisses me off. He should be happy. He was the one who was dreaming about me and he has the audacity to yell at me? 

     I have no choice but to leave, so I go to my daddy, and we’ll see what he has to say about this. Alpha Eli will be mine! 

**Eli**

     I walk to my desk and sit down with a sigh knowing that nothing good was going to come from this meeting. 

”Son, I want you to take Eliza out on a picnic and give her a chance. Eliza has come to Alpha Michael and he has told me that you yelled at her when she was trying to get to know you better. Eli, we need a Luna for this pack, and Eliza would be a perfect Luna for us!”

     I look over at Eliza and she has a smug look on her face. It only serves to piss me off more but I can't let that show in front of my father and Alpha Michael. I’m so angry that when I fist my hands on my chair the wood splits. 

Alpha Michael doesn't look happy either so he speaks up.

”Alpha Eli, I understand that this has all come as a surprise and you have been rushed into claiming a mate, but do not ever shout at my little princess ever again! You will treat your future Luna with respect. Is that clear?” 

”I will treat her with respect when she starts acting like a respectable young lady, and she can keep her hands to herself, then I will treat her the way I treat all decent young women, and that is final! You do not get to come to my territory and tell me how I should treat my guests when they have presented themselves to me poorly and without knowing the whole story. So if you will excuse me, I have important matters to attend to, and I will not be taking Miss Eliza out for a picnic today!” 

     I left the packhouse before my father could stop me and headed into town to find my mate, Christa. When I walked into the library, I was immediately hit with her scent! She was definitely here! I started walking around pretending to look at books seeing if I could spot her. I knew I was getting closer. I peeked around the corner of an aisle and I saw her! My beautiful mate was standing there with a bunch of books in her hands putting them away. I tried to keep out of sight so she wouldn't see me because I just wanted to admire how beautiful she is. 

”We look like a stalker!” Simon said.

”I am not a stalker. I just want to watch her for a minute before I go say hi.”

”Whatever... Stalker!” Simon laughs. I roll my eyes.

     I love how graceful she moves but there is a little something weird with how she moves. It's almost like it hurts her. She begins to climb the ladder with books in her arms which makes me really nervous. I sigh relief when I see her put away the last book and begin to climb down. When she is halfway down her foot gets caught and she starts to fall and I immediately rush to her and catch her in my arms! I’m so thankful I was here for her because I don't know what I would have done if she had gotten hurt! 

     It takes her a second to realize she isn't hurt, and she slowly opens one eye and then the other and looks up into my eyes. As soon as our eyes meet, I can see the questions in her eyes and see she's starting to panic. 

”Sssshhh calm down, it's ok. I’ve got you; you're ok! Are you ok to stand if I put you down?” She quickly nods her head, so I gently set her down on her feet. 

”W-wwwhere did y-you come from?”

”I was walking in this aisle when I saw you were about to fall”

”But I d-didn't even see you? How did you get to me so fast? Oh gosh, where are my manners? Thank you for saving me! You don't understand how bad it could have been if you hadn't been here! I’m Christa, by the way.” She holds out her hand to shake mine so I reach out to shake her hand. And I notice she shivers when our skin touches from the tingles she feels. I smile knowing that she does indeed feel the mate pull. 

”I’m Eli; it's nice to meet you officially!” 

”Likewise! I’m sorry about the other day when I ran into you, and I took off. I honestly don't know what came over me!” 

”It’s quite alright. I’m just glad I’ve had the opportunity to finally introduce myself!” I can hear her heart beating extremely fast.

”Me too! I was worried that after I ran off, I would never see you again! But here you are!” 

”Yep, here I am!” We stare into each other's eyes, smiling awkwardly, not knowing what to say next. 

”Well. I better get going. My shift is over, and I have to get home before it starts getting dark.”

”Oh, can I walk you to your car?” 

”Oh I don't have a car.”

”How do you plan on getting home?”

”I’m going to walk home.” 

”Well, it's already getting dark so why don't you let me give you a ride home?” 

”Oh I don't know. I really shouldn't be getting into a car with strangers.” 

”Well, you met me yesterday, and you know my name, and I just saved you from falling off that ladder; I think we’re a little more than strangers now!” She giggles and blushes as she considers my offer.

”Ok, I guess you can give me a ride home! Thank you!” 

     After she grabs her sweater and purse I guide her to my car. She stops immediately looking at it, stunned. 

”Are you ok? Is something wrong?” I ask concerned.

”Is that a 2014 Lykan Hypersport 3.7 L twin turbocharge?” I look at her stunned. How did she know? 

”Is it a 6-speed sequential manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch? 

”It’s a 7 speed dual clutch. How in the world did you know?” 

”How did I know? I love cars, and this model is rare! How the heck did you get your hands on this? And what in the world do you do to afford a beauty like this?” 

This girl is a dream come true! Not only was she beautiful but she knew her cars! 

I chuckle a bit from her excitement and the cute look on her face 

”I’m in the technology industry. I create and sell the best security system technology around the world.” 

”Wow, impressive.”

”Not really. It's nothing.”

”It’s not nothing! Don't be so modest!” 

I chuckle and open the door for her and help her inside the car! I jog around to the other side and get in. I watch as she admires the interior and runs her fingers along with the leather and dashboard, and I immediately wish that it was me; her fingers were touching that way. I quickly shake that thought out of my head and clear my throat. 

”Where do you live?”

”I live on Bane Avenue. You just go up the block and down a dirt road, and we’ll be there!” 

I start the car and start heading towards her home. We make small talk on the way there, getting to know each other a bit. Once I pull up to the house, it’s secluded and surrounded by trees. 

”Nice place you’ve got!” I say as I get out to open her car door for her and help her out of the car. Just then, a car pulls up, and I immediately go on high alert. Christa gets out of the car, and she tenses up. I see a man walking towards us and he calls out Christa’s name and walks up and hugs her. Immediately I ran to her, knocking him down, taking her in my arms, and growling ”MINE.”
