Chapter 8

CHAPTER  8

"Let's go in the mall after your class," Hexon said and glanced at me. 

"Oh, you're not busy? I mean, you're not going to do something this day?" I asked. 

He shrugged at me, "This day is for us, I really reserved this for you—"

"For us, Hex! I'm here," Kyla said and strike his arms. 

Dizen and I laughed because of that, he's the one whose driving the car while Hexon is in the front seat, Kyla and I are in the backseat. 

"You have a favoritism!" Kyla said and pouted, she cross her hand on her chest and glared at Hexon. 

Dizen glanced at her in the mirror, "Stop acting like a kid, Kyla. You're not a child anymore," he said in a mocking voice.

I bit my lips to stop from grinning, Hexon laughed too. I look at Kyla when I noticed her glare at me, I look at her innocently. 

"What?" I asked. 

"I'm your best friend, Dems. Defend me from this two idiots," she said and frowned at me. 

"Just stop talking to them," I said and smiled at her. 

"As usual, Dems." she said and pouted to me. 

"Open the radio or just play a music, Hex," I uttered to him.

"I'll just connect it to my phone," Kyla suggested, I nod at her. She has a good taste in music, we have the same vibes. 

"Stop frowning Hex," I said and chuckled. 

"If I'll base on Hexon's expression... I think Kyla has a bad taste in music," Dizen as he glanced at us. 

I and Kyla look at each other and frowned, "Just shut up and listen, we're not about asking about your opinion," Kyla said. 

She picked a song, I was just looking outside while listening, Billie Eilish songs are really our favorite, there's something in here music that will just make you drown at it. 

Help, I lost myself again

But I remember you

Don't come back, it won't end well

But I wish you'd tell me to  

I closed my eyes as I feel her song, her emotion makes me wonder, she's uttering every words like there's something hidden in it.

Our love is six feet under

I can't help but wonder

If our grave was watered by the rain

Would roses bloom?

Could roses bloom

Again?  

 I glanced at Kyla when I felt her head on my shoulder, I chuckled, she fell asleep. 

"Still the same, she always sleep in the car," Dizen said as he glanced at her, I nod at her. She likes sleeping when she have time. 

"How old are you when you met her?" I asked, he shrugged at me. 

"We were neighbors, we known each other since five years old, I moved to other country when I was in seventeen and just came back when I was twenty one," he said. 

I nod at him, "So that explains everything," I muttered to him.

His forehead wrinkle, "Explain what?" he asked. 

I smiled at him, "I'm just curious why I didn't saw you when we were in high school," I said and shrugged at him. 

He chuckled, "I think you met her after I left the country or a month before," he said. 

I nod at him, "Where did you move out? I mean, what country?" I asked. 

"New Zealand, my parents has a business there so we had to stay," he uttered. 

"Oh, hmm, wait, you said you just went home when you were twenty one, right?" I asked. 

He nods at me, "But I saw your brother we I was in senior high school," I said. 

"He stayed here, he doesn't want to live in other country so he chose to stay here alone," my lips parted, so his brother was the only one who was left here in the Philippines. 

"I see," I said while nodding. 

"Did you had an interaction with him?" he asked. 

I nod at him, "We talked for the photo shoot of the models, he was in college while I was still a senior that time, he's nice," I said.

"Oh, you're into photography, too?" 

I nod, "Yap, I love taking photos and capture the nature or everything that is beautiful," I uttered to him and smile. 

He smirked at me in the mirror, "Then do you want to take a photo of me," he said. 

I scoffed at him, "What the hell," I said and laughed. 

Hexon frowned at his cousin, "You're learning how to flirt, huh," he said to Dizen. 

"I know how to flirt, bro, stop that look, asshole," he said and chortled at Hexon.

Retrace my lips, erase your touch

It's all too much for me

Blow away like smoke in air

How can you die carelessly?  

I yawned and lean my head on the headboard, Hexon glanced at me, "Use the pillow, you'll get your neck hurt," he said 

I pouted and nod at him, "Okay," I said and get the pillow. 

"Any news to share, hmm," I asked him while fixing the pillow to my head. 

He shook his head, "None, Dems. I told you, we chose to rest first," he said as he sighed deeply. 

I chuckled, "You're smitten over her, you can't hide it, Hex,  I'm not asking about her, I'm asking about you and your life, how is it?" I said and smiled at him teasingly. 

He tsked at me, "You and your little tricks, I'm fine, I think I'm doing fine as for now," he said. 

I nod at him, "That's good to hear," I uttered to him, 

Our love is six feet under

I can't help but wonder

If our grave was watered by the rain

Would roses bloom?

"How about you?" he asked. 

I smiled at him, "I'm okay, too." I said. 

"Hmm, is there something happened that you want to tell me?" he asked, I pouted at him and shrugged.

"Maybe some other time, Hex," I said and smiled. 

He nods at me, "Okay, call me if you need someone to talk to hmm," he uttered. 

"Of course," I replied. 

He smiled at me before he turns to Dizen, "Do you have a class?" he asked.

Dizen nods at him, "Yes, just go somewhere while you're waiting for us," he said and smirked at him. 

Hex hissed at him, "You said you're too lazy to go in the class—:

'But I never said that I will skip my class, you just assumed it," he said and to him, he grinned to mocked Hex even more. 

"f**k you, dude," Hexon said and shook his head while looking at his cousin unbelievably.. 

Six feet under

I can't help but wonder

Again  

"Wake her up, we're almost here," Dizen said. I nod at him and tapped Kyla's cheeks. 

Kyla groaned and open her eyes a little, "Hmm," she hummed.

"We're here, you have to wake up, fix yourself," I said as I noticed the messy hair. 

She pouted and sat properly, Dizen stopped the car in the parking lot

"Why did you stop just here?" Kyla asked, he didn't park the car properly. 

He smirked at us, "Hexon will just roamed around the city while he's waiting for us," he said playfully.

Hexon raised his middle finger to him, "f**k you," he said and pushed Dizen a little. 

I laughed at them, Dizen step out and we did the same thing, Hexon transfer in the driver's seat and glared at Dizen whose now grinning at him.

"Stop that smirked, just wait for my revenge," he said to him, he turns at me and Kyla.

"Focus on your class, let's see each other later," he uttered to us. 

I nod at him and smile while Kyla scoffed, "Yes, dad," she sarcastically. 

I chuckled at her, Hex just shook his head. "Take care, be here before four," I said and waved my hand on him. 

We watched him drove away before we went to our class. 

My eyes darted on Piloer as I sat down, her head is on the table, she's sleeping?

I put my bag on the side as I tapped her shoulder, "Piloer, wake up, our professor is already here," I whispered to her. 

My lips parted when she open her eyes, she's awake? I smiled and her she did the same too. 

"You're almost late," she said. 

"Hexon picked us at house," I said, I don't even know if  that answer her question. 

She nods at me, "He's with Dizen, right?" she asked, I nod at her. 

"Do you want to come with us after class? We'll go to mall," I asked her.

She shook her head, "I think it's exclusive for just—" 

"I'm not close at Dizen but he's coming with us, you can join, there's always a room for friendship and getting to know each other," I said to her.

She pouted to me, "Are you sure? How about Hexon?" she said. 

I smiled widely at her, "Hexon is a good man, he just looks snob but he's the kindest," I said proudly. 

"I hope we get along, by the way, are you friends with Liesandra? The girl yesterday in the cafeteria?" she asked. 

I shook my head, "No, I just met her a day before you," I said to her. 

She nods at me before she turns to our professor, I was just listening the whole time before the dismissal. 

Piloer looks at me, "Let's go?" she asked. 

"Yap, Kyla is there already" I said as I received her text. 

She nods at me, "Let's go, we have to go back early to prepare out materials for the paintings we're gonna make," Piloer said. 

I smiled at her, "You love painting? You looks so excited," I uttered to her. 

"Yap, it's my hobby since when I was a kid, all of my painting was place in our house," she said, we are walking towards the cafeteria while talking about some random things about us. 

We're just getting to know each other, she's adorable but she can also be a b***h if she wants to. 

"There she is, " I said as I saw Kyla, my eyes darted to Liesandra. 

"Hey," Piloer said and sat beside Liesandra, our table is actually an eight seater table so there's still have a huge for out things and bags. 

"Are you busy this afternoon?" I asked to Liesandra, she's eating a carbonara., 

Piloer looks at me as if she forgot what I have said, "I already invited you," I told to her. 

She shook her head, "Yes, I was just shocked," she said. 

"Shock? Because?" I asked. 

"That you're being too nice," she uttered as she glanced at me then to Kyla. 

"What do you mean?" I look at her with my furrowed brow. 

She smiled at me, "It's just so new to me, you're a Homer, I mean please don't get offended, what I just want to say is I know your kind but I thought you pick—"

"Piloer," Kyla said and shook her head. 

"It's fine, Ky. I want to hear it too," I said to Kyla and turn to Piloer. 

She pursed her lips and stare at me, "I just thought you have your some kind of agenda, too," she said and look away. 

I chuckled, "Is that because of my brother?" I asked.

She nods at me, I know what Nathan did to Kyla, I would never forget that too cause that's the reason why me and Kyla are friends right now. 

"I'm sorry for that, my brother is really an asshole, I already apologized to Kyla in behalf of him," I said as I look at her. 

"That's not even your fault, I was just so childish back then," Kyla said while looking at me, I chortled at her. 

"It's fine, we should be thankful that you did that because look at now, we're best of friends," I uttered to her, I just want her to look at the bright side.

She smirked at me and turns to Piloer, "How did you know about that? I didn't told you anything," Kyla asked to Piloer. 

She shrugged, "I went home here when we were in first year of college and Auntie told me what happened,"  Piloer said. 

Kyla widened her eyes, "Why I didn't know that?" she asked. 

"You were in staying in your condo and I went back to Los Angeles right away because mom called me," she said, Kyla nods at her. 

"Well, hmm, about that, it's my parents fault why I  fell for Nathan, they kept on telling me that I should be close with him and so I did," Kyla said and winced. 

I chuckled at her, "He's like a rock, no one can tame him," I said as I remember the good old days. 

She nods at me, "He rejected in front of dad's employee and I want to hide in embarrassment that time, like what the hell!" she said and frowned at me.

I bit my lips and laughed, "And what did you do, huh," I said teasingly. 

She scratch her nose and pouted her lips, "Don't make me remember it," she said and act like she's disgusted. 

"Don't you want to share it to them?" I asked and chortled. 

She glared at me, "Shut up, Dems," she said and make a face. 

I just look at her innocently and turn to my food, I bit my lips and just smiled. 

"What did you do, Kyla?" Piloer asked as she looks at her curiously. 

I pursed my lips and look at Piloer, she smirked on me playfully. 

"Stop looking at each other, I already forgot it, I don't want to go back in the past," she said and rolled her eyes to us. 

"Is that some kind of humiliation?" Liesandra asked and look at us. 

Kyla nods at her multiple times, "It is...well, for me. Such a shame to remember," Kyla said and flickered her tongue on her right cheeks. 

"At least you survived," I said to her. 

She tsked, "I literally want to lock myself for weeks that time, I don't t want others to see me cause they're making fun of it," she said and groaned. 

"Well, people likes to gossip," Liesandra said and beamed at us. 

Kyla nods at her, "Yes, proven and tested," she said. 

"By the way, are you coming?" Kyla asked Liesandra. 

"Where? I'm free this afternoon but I have a curfew," she uttered. 

"We're going in the mall, we'll just shop or play in the arcade, or just simple a bond," I said as I look at her. 

She smiled to us, "Who's with us?" she asked. 

"Ahm, I don't think you know—"

"What are you doing here?" we look at Kyla and to someone she's referring to. 

I was interrupted when Kyla asked someone, I look at Dizen when he sat beside me, our attention turns to the woman standing in front of us, Dizen is with her. 

I stared at her intently, I think I already saw her. 

"Who is she?" I asked to him. 

Dizen smirked, "She's Balerie, the new students in Tourism," he said. 

Wait, Balerie? I think I heard it already. 

"You'll be one who represent your field in modelling competition this coming month, right?" Kyla asked as she looks at her. 

She nods at us, "Yes, I'm Balerie Merasdi," she said and smiled sweetly at us. 

My lips parted as she smile, she look so beautiful and angelic.

"Did we met before?" I asked. 

She beamed at me, "Yap, in the Alouette's Feral Bar, remember the girl Sachzna?" she said, 

My lips parted, "Oh, you're that girl," I uttered to her. 

She nods at me, "You easily forget me, huh," she said and pouted. 

I smiled at her apologetically, "I'm sorry, I'm in rush at that time so I wasn't able to look and remember you," I said. 

"I'm just kidding, Demetra. It's actually fine," she said in a modest way. 

"Thank you, Balerie?" 

She nods, "Yes, you can call me Balerie," she said. 

"You can take a seat," I said to her and pointed the space in Piloer's side.

She looks at them, "Can I join you? I'm sorry, I just don't have a friend—"

"It's fine," Kyla said and smiled at her. 

She nods at sat, they ordered their food. I look at Kyla when she poked me, "What?" I asked. 

"You went to a bar?" she asked me, I nods at her. 

"Yap, remember Hexon's birthday? I told you that I will fetch Dysthe, she's in the bar that time," I said. 

"Oh right," she replied then glance at Dizen. 

Dizen looks at when he noticed our stares, "Hmm?' he asked. 

"Why are you with her? Hmm? You're courting—"

"Stop with your malicious stare, Kyla. I just brought her here because she looks lonely," he said and squints at her. 

Kyla scoffed, "It's so rare for you to talk to someone, especially a girl,"  Kyla whispered and widened her eyes on Dizen. 

I look at Dizen as he stares at me too, "What?" I asked 

He shook his head, "You have a crazy best friend," he said and smirked. 

I chuckled at him while Kyla frowned, "What the hell!" she said to her. 

"Stop arguing you," I said and sat properly. 

"Why are you whispering?" Piloer asked as she looks at Kyla and Dizen, the girls beside her also looks at us. 

I chuckled, "They're just talking about something, reminiscing the past perhaps," I said jokingly

Liesandra coughed, "They are exes?" she asked. 

"No, of course not!" Kyla exclaimed and cross her arms on her chest. 

Piloer laughed, "Kyla is being defensive, hmm," she said and bit her lips,

"You wouldn't like it when I fired back," Kyla said and smirked at her naughtily. 

Piloer pursed her lips, "Ahm, I'm just kidding," she said and look away like an innocent child. 

Kyla laughed devilishly, "Behave, Piloer." she said and link her lips. 

Piloer frowned, "You're such a blackmailer," she said to Kyla and make a face. 

I shook my head and look at Balerie, she's just quiet and looking at us, "Hey," I muttered to her. 

She looks at me, "Hmm, do you need something?" she asked politely. 

"Where do you came from? I mean why did you transfer here?" I asked. 

She smiled at me, "My parents want me transfer here but I don't really want to but I had no choice," she said, she's so classy. 

"Why? You look fine but don't you have a friends in your field," Kyla asked 

"Actually, I was born in Mexico but then we have to moved in different countries because of my parents businesses," she uttered. 

"You just transferred here, too?" Piloer asked. 

She nods at her, "Yap, I mean it's really too late but my mother pulled some string, you know connections," 

I nod at her, "So, you studied in Mexico and just went here this month?" I asked.

She nods at me, "I'm just new here, I can't vibe someone in our field, they're looking at me like I'm sort of different, or maybe of accent? I don't know," she said and shrugged. 

Her accent is really obvious when she speak, "Where did you met Sachzna?" I asked. 

"I met her two weeks ago actually, we just clicked you know, I bumped into her in the mall then that's it," she said. 

"So you just met her here in the Philippines? You two look like you know each other very well or maybe you're just really comfortable to each other," I said. 

"Well, she's nice and she has my vibes, how about all of you?" she said as she looks at us. 

"I also a transferee like you but Kyla and Dizen are already my childhood friends, and Demetra and I has a same course while Liesandra, she's our new friend," Piloer said, 

Balerie nods at us, "So how about Kyla and Demetra? Are you close with each other?" she asked as she looks at us. 

Kyla and I nod, "We're best of friends," I said and smiled at her, "By the way, do you want to hangout with us?" I asked. 

She raised her brow to me, "Hmm? When and where?" she asked. 

"Later, after class. We will just go in the mall and road trip I think?" I said. 

She pouted her lips, "I think I have to refused for now, I have something to do after class but can you invite next time? I have a family dinner today," she said. 

I nods at her, "Of course, can I have your number?" I said. 

She smiled widely lend me her hand, I gave her my phone. 

"Here," she said after she type her contact number. "Thank you," I mumbled. 

I lean on the couch but I immediately sat properly when I felt a hand, I look at Dizen, he's arm in over the backrest of the chair. 

He looks at me then to his arms, he smirked, "I won't touch you, I'm just used at placing my arms over there," he said, he didn't remove it.

I sighed and lean, his hand didn't touch my shoulder, it's just resting on the couch. 

"What time is you break time?" Piloer asked to Balerie. 

"Hmm, one thirty, I still have thirty minutes," she said as she glanced in her watch. 

Piloer and I look at each other stood up, "Damn," she said.

I chuckled and take my back, "What's happening?" Liesandra asked. 

"Our activity is one o'clock," I said as I rushed to eat my food so I just ate it all. 

"Hey, be careful," Dizen said. 

I smiled at him, he shook his head and take something on his bag, it's a tumbler. 

"Just take this in case you choke," he said, 

I chuckled at him, "Than—"

"Don't say something and just go,' he said. 

Piloer bid her goodbye to them while I just bow cause I can speak. 

I drink the water Dizen gave me and sighed, "We're here," Piloer said after we ran.

We went inside, they're still not starting, I sighed and sat on my chair. 

Everyone is just silent as they paint and I did the same thing, when I finished my work I glanced at Piloer, she's already done, it took us two hours to paint. 

I stretched my body, my back feels numb as I paint in the same position for two hours,

"Let's go straight in the parking lot, I'm sure they're already there," I said as we went out. 

"What time is it?" she asked. 

"Three thirty, I told Hexon to be here before four," I said. 

While we are waling to the parking lot, Piloer stopped and look at me. 

"What?" I asked.

"Do you have a contact number of Liesandra? Is she coming with us?" she asked.

I shrugged, "I don't know but she has number, I'm sure she will contact me if she'll come," I said. 

She nods and walked, when roamed the parking lot as we went in. My eyes darted on a white van, that's Hexon's van. 

"Let's go, I saw him already," I said to Piloer.

I smiled as I saw Hexon step out, "Where's Kyla and Dizen?" I asked to him. 

He shrugged, "I don't know, I thought you were with them," he said and glanced at Piloer. 

"Drop that poker face and smile at her," I said. 

"Oh, I'm sorry, you know that it's my normal face, Dem." he said and chuckled. 

He beamed at her, "Hi," he said and smiled at her. 

I pouted at him, "Try to contact them," I told him. 

He nods at me, "Okay, let's just stay here for a while so they can find us, or you want to go inside? I'll just stay here," he said. 

I shook my head, "No, I'm fine here, how about you?" I asked and look at Piloer.

"I'll just wait here," she said and shrugged. 

"Hello, where are you?" Hexon said, he's talking to Dizen I think?

"Asshole, Dems and Piloer are here already," he said and glanced at us. 

"You're with Kyla and who? Lie, what?" He asked, his forehead wrinkle in confusion. 

"Oh, okay, fine, shut up— f**k you," he said and ended  the call. 

"What did he said?" I asked. 

"Dizen said you invited the girl named Lie— hmm, I don't know her name," he said. 

I nods at him, Liesandra Fernandez, daughter of Liemindro Fernandez," I said to him.

"Oh, she's your friend?" he asked. 

"Yap, she's our friend," I replied to him. 

He nods at me, our attention turns to Dizen, Kyla and Liesandra. 

Hexon raised his middle finger to Dizen, "Shut you mouth, Dizen," he said.

"I'm not saying anything, Hex. Chill," he said and smirked playfully. 

I shrugged and look Liesandra, "Hey," I said and smiled at her. 

"Hi, sorry we're late, they still wait for me," she said. 

I shook my head, "It's fine, we didn't wait that long," I said to her. 

"Let's go?" Kyla asked to us, everyone nods. 

I was about to go inside when I remember something, damn.

"What happened, Dems?" she asked worriedly, I'm the last one to enter the van so they're all looking at me. 

"I think... I'll just follow," I said.

"What? Why?" Hexon asked.

I sighed, "I need to fetch Dysthe," I said.

"Where is she?" Kyla asked. 

I shrugged at her, "I'll contact her," I said. 

Kyla looks at me with her confused eyes and I just sighed.
