“Wait!” I hollered as I sighted a red-haired girl from afar.
The figure halted and turned slowly towards me. Her face was down, and her long hair covered it, concealing her identity.
However, I didn't need to see her face to confirm the identity of the person I had seen.
A smile lit up my face as I skipped toward her.
“It's been a while,” I said, and my eyes strayed towards the sky.
I breathed out as the cool air caressed my face, and I gazed back at the girl.
“What is going on? Everything has been quiet lately.”
I attempted to strike up a conversation between us. Yet, she was mute, and she hadn't raised her head to stare at me.
I noticed the long dress she donned was stained with dirt, as if she had been in a fight with someone in the mud.
