The airport was dark and chilly. It was time for Kyle to go back home. They promised to stay in touch and exchanged contact information.
“I’ll be coming back at some point to get some things and pack up the house. I’ll probably be in Oregon for a month or two, getting it all ready.”
“What will you do with the farm?” he said.
“I’m not sure yet. Sell it? Rent it out?” She shrugged. “I’ll certainly have some loose ends to…” She dwindled off in midsentence.
