What an incredible view, I thought, as I crossed over Hoover Dam. There was a sign halfway across that indicated I was leaving Arizona and entering Nevada. I felt myself relaxing for the first time in weeks.
It had taken me three days to drive from Georgia, my trusty Mustang eating up the miles of interstate. I had finally cleared out of the army without a clue what to do next, when it suddenly hit me. I was going to Las Vegas.
It was almost dark as I crested a large hill, and suddenly there it was, ‘Sin City’. The neon lights of the Strip lit up the darkening sky like the lights of a massive carnival. The brightest light in the world on top of the glass Luxor pyramid shot its beam deep into outer space, while the Stratosphere Tower rose majestically above the huge strip hotels.
