Major Kafeero and the soldiers under his command waited patiently for the fleeing enemy troops. The APC’s had been hidden in the darkness, and now that the sun had risen he made sure that they remained properly concealed.
Suddenly, two of the enemy broke from the tree line heading straight towards his Ratel-90. He gave the order to his men to hold their fire. The armored vehicles were about half a mile from the jungle and he wanted as many of the enemy as possible in the open before he announced their presence.
The two were quickly followed by ragged groups of terrified rebels, all running for their lives. The first two were almost on top of his vehicle when he eventually gave the order to fire.
They were cut down immediately while the survivors behind them desperately sought shelte
