Rejected & Accepted

 {Haru's POV}

Haru would open his eyes looking towards his door as he sighed. "Hold on." He would shout to let her know that he was coming. What could she want with him now? He stands up walking over to the door as he opens it up looking at her cold eyes. "DarkRose..." He looked into her eyes and sighed looking away.

"Listen to me... I need you to know that i am sorry. For being cold to you and making you think you only matter because of the pack." He started to turn around. "But I reject you... I cannot have you has my mate..." He said as he sighed. "At least now you can hate me for a real reason" Haru put on a very cold facade when he looked back at her. " Now then. I have allot of work to do." He added grabbing a bag of his and walking past her as his aura gave off a cold feeling. " Forget what you know about me. I have forgotten already." He would walk off into the cold unforgiving forest.

                                                                                {DarkRose's POV}

Forgetting what she had initially went to his cabin for, DarkRose would spin around on her heal watching his back as he'd walk past. "See what did I tell you..." Was all that she said to her wolf as her wolf howled mournfully in the back of her mind. "He really rejected us... We'll never be able to have a mate now..." Came her wolf's whimpering reply. As if on cue, a sharp searing pain would shoot through DarkRose starting on her chest over where her heart was, just above her left breast.

A soft gasp would leave her lips as her right hand would fly to the spot. She didn't have to look to know what was happening, it was a tradition in the shifter world as ancient as time itself. The magic that created and upheld the shifter laws was now marking her with a small 'X' on her chest. This only happens when a shifter is rejected by their one true mate. It shows they were not wanted, and therefore also shows they are now unworthy of having a mate.

Sighing, DarkRose would lower her hand and look at her chest. Seeing the 'X' was like a slap to her face and only served to piss her off. Especially since once a pack member, who was not alpha, got rejected by their mate they lost their current position, and were made omega. This meant DarkRose could no longer live in her cabin, nor could she do the duties of a beta. Now she would have to live in the Omegas cabin. Her new duties would entail her having to cook and clean everyday for the rest of the pack.

Shaking her head angrily at being dropped down to such a lowly rank in the pack after all her hard work, and everything she'd been through, she'd walk off Haru's porch and storm into the beta cabin where she kept a knapsack by the door. She would shove a couple of blankets, some clothes, and her books in the bag before closing it. "Rosie what are you doing?" Her wolf would ask weakly, as if the rejection had broken her heart too much for her to go on. Though DarkRose, having turned her emotions off, couldn't feel it until she decides to turn them back on. "I'm packing, because we're leaving... I'd rather be a rogue than be a lowly omega forced to cook and clean all day everyday for the pack." She answered her wolf, her tone hard and cold as ice. 

                                                                                  {Haru's POV}

Haru would sigh walking through the forest, not realizing just how bad of a choice he made. His wolf would growl as he walked. 'You have no idea what you have done. You are making such an idiotic choice. You can feel it, you love her...'

Haru tried to deny his true feelings but nothing worked. His spirit, his soul, it wanted her. He growled as he looked down and closed his eyes. "Fuck... What am I doing?!" He said as he turns around and quickly starts running back. He had already moved far away from the pack due to aimlessly walking. He tries to run as fast as he can, but from how long he had walked it would talk a long while to get back.

                                                                              {DarkRose's POV}

After she had finished packing she slung the knapsack over her shoulder and walked out of the cabin. She knew she couldn't go far as this area of the world she was unfamiliar with, however she knew she could disappear into the vast forest and live as a rogue. She would an enemy to the pack then, but at least she'd be safe and alone.

"Rosie... Please... Don't do this to us... Maybe he'll change his mind... Maybe he did it to protect us... Please don't make us leave the pack." Her wolf pleaded with her. Her wolf's tone desperate and sad. It was clear that even though she had been rejected, some part of her her wolf part, still cared about Haru and the pack. DarkRose herself was just angry, and wanted to be away from it all. So walking off into the forest heading north, she would move at a leisurely place as she wasn't really in much of a hurry to leave since she knew no one, but maybe Haru, would try to stop her, and even Then Haru had gone the opposite direction of her.

She would keep walking until she knew she had left pack territory, and was now safe in no man's land. Her main goal now was to find somewhere that she could use as a shelter and set up base. After that she knew she needed to hunt for food, and maybe shift to her wolf to go for a run, as she hadn't shifted in a good while.

However her instincts were telling her that she wouldn't be gone long. Something was telling her that once Haru found her gone he'd be coming for her, whether it was to drag her back to the pack, or to kill her she did not know. Yet she was sure she knew him well enough to know he wouldn't just let her leave either.

                                                                                   {Haru's POV}

After a while Haru had returned, dragging the body of a large black grizzly behind him for the pack to eat. "Dammit. I can't Believe this damn beast was so close to the pack grounds..." He said as he stopped dead in his tracks, sniffing the air. He growled as he walked towards DarkRose's cabin and opened the door. "She didn't..." His eyes would glow a deep red color as he walked back out, and told everyone that he was leaving.

"Alpha Wait!'' One of the pack gammas shouted as they made their way towards him. Everyone knew she was gone as they stood at the edge of camp, looking on to their alpha as if to say 'bring her back safe'. The gamma would grab Haru's hand and smile warmly. ''I have felt it in your heart young alpha. I know you have felt it as well. Do not mistake anything. Your happiness, her happiness... That is what the pack needs." The gamma would smile and hand him two Fang like necklaces. "The Red one is yours. The Blue is for her. Please Young alpha... Bring her back to her home." The Elder smiled as she bowed and walked back to the other pack members who were smiling and waiting.

Haru looked at them all and sighed. Placing the two necklaces around his neck. "I promise to bring her back. I promise all of you that She will be back home safely." He turned and walked away into the wilderness. 'And this time... I will be honest and tell her how i really feel...' He thinks to himself. She seemed to have made quite the travel as it would take him maybe a few days to track her down. 'Just how far did she go?' He would wonder as he walked, trying to keep track of her scent.

                                                                            {DarkRose's POV}

DarkRose had traveled trough the forest for a few days before finally finding a place she could use as a shelter. Her path north had taken her up into the mountains a little ways. It was about half way up the mountain closest to the pack territory that she found a cave suitable enough to be called home. At the back of the large cave was a pool of water that DarkRose soon found out, by sticking her hand in the water, was a natural hot spring. This would put a small smile on her face as she realized the hot spring would come in handy for so many things.

After taking a little time to get her pallet at the back of the cave set up, she would strip down to her birthday suit and lower herself into the hot water. "Ahhh..." She would sigh in content as she'd lean her head back against the cool rock of the cave floor. "Who would have thought a hot spring would feel so good after five days of walking and sleeping in trees." She would say to her wolf, as her wolf was the only company she had now a days. "This would be perfect if only I had some soap to clean up with, but for now just taking a nice long soak will have to do." She murmured, more to herself than her wolf this time.

However her relaxation would soon be interrupted as her wolf would whine softly in the back of her mind. "Can we go for a run now? You haven't let me out in so long..." Her wolf would ask a little meekly. Though by her tone DarkRose could tell she still wasn't taking the rejection by their one true mate very well. Before she knew it her left hand would rise, as she would subconsciously lightly run the tips of her index and middle fingers over the 'X' that now sat just above her left breast.

"Hm... Perhaps a run would be good for both of us." DarkRose would murmur in response as if her mind were elsewhere. "We can even hunt while we're out too." She'd add though she made no move to get out of the relaxing hot water that was bubbling up and around her naked body. "How long till we go then?" Her wolf would ask. As if impatient to be able to stretch her legs and work her body's muscles. "Soon." Was all that DarkRose would say in response as she'd close her eyes, and sink even further down into the water until it came up to her chin.

                                                                                      {Haru's POV}

Haru would sigh making his way up a mountain before stopping. "I need her to know the truth... Why the hell wasn't I just honest with her from the start?" He growled. His wolf laughed inside his head as it started to speak. 'You can be a fool sometimes. You thought it would protect her when it only made things worse, but you are fixing things.' his wolf stated as Haru nodded. "Yeah... You're right.." He confessed more to himself than his wolf.

It was at this point that he made it to an opening in the mountain, curious as to what was inside he walked in. "Woah... This place is full of steam." He looked around and placed his hand on the wall. 'Warm. A hot spring must be around the area.' Haru would think to himself. He continued walking into the cave as he came up to an opening and stopped.

'It's DarkRose...' He says inside of his head as he walked closer only to realize she was naked, causing him to blush deeply as he turned around to give her respect. "DarkRose... You need to come back to the pack." He said as he was being calm, and had a soft tone.

                                                                                   {DarkRose's POV}

DarkRose would slowly open her eyes, her pupils narrowing at hearing Haru's voice. She would growl lowly at her privacy being so rudely invaded. "And why should I do that, hm?" She would ask, her tone remaining hard and cold. "I'd rather be a rogue than an omega... Especially after all the hard work I did to become your second!" She growled at him as her anger rose within her.

"Rosie... Calm down please. I sense he brings us good news, not bad..." Her wolf pleaded with her in her mind. DarkRose would huff as she'd stand and quickly slide on a pair of black leather pans, a black velvet corset, and her typical black leather high heeled thigh high boots. "Why should I calm down!? he rejected us, made us nothing more than a lowly omega, and above all that he's a heartless jerk!" DarkRose snapped internally at her wolf.

This resulted in her wolf snarling at her, and before DarkRose knew it she was shifting into her wolf form, as her wolf forced her body to change. Snarls and whimpers mixed together could be heard from behind Haru as DarkRose and her Wolf fought internally for one or the other to gain control of their body. Finally the internal battle ended with a pained scream coming from DarkRose as her bones broke, reformed, broke again, shifted, and snapped into place as her body shifted into her white furred wolf with the purple markings.

After the change was completed she would stand there on all for looking at Haru's back. Soft pained whimpers could be heard coming from her chest, as her pain filled eyes rested upon the back of the head of the one who had shattered her heart. Now that she had forced her human counterpart to shift, the emotional lockout that she had done was undone. All of the emotions she had been suppressing came flooding back in all at once. "Dammit!" DarkRose would shriek at her wolf from the back of her mind. Her legs shook as she struggled to not let her emotions get the best of her. Her once quiet whimpers now pained whines.

During all of this her eyes never once left the back of Haru's head. Every instinct in her body telling her to just run away and never return. After all he had rejected her, and the 'X' that proved it showed as a black mark in the fur on her chest in her wolf form. "I'm sorry Rosie, but you needed to feel again... Without feeling you don't think straight, and therefore make stupid decisions..." She told her more human part as she folded her ears back against her skull. her eyes filling with the unshed tears caused by the shattering of her heart.

                                                                    {Haru's's POV}

Haru looked down as he sighed. "Why should you? Yes... You are right to feel that way..." He would make a fist and clench it close to his chest inhaling slowly, exhaling just the same. 'Tell her Haru. Take her as yours.' His inner wolf would speak, making Haru's eyes fill up with determination, and a dominant Aura surrounded him.

Haru turned around and looked at her in the eyes. "You need to come back... Because... Well because I love you!!!" He shouted to her as his heart suddenly felt lighter and warm. "I was an i***t. I rejected you for fear of them killing you. I couldn't care less about my position being ruined!" He growled as he started walking up to her.

He knelt down, and would gently lay a hand on her head petting her fur slowly and gently. He then placed his forehead against hers. "I accept you as my mate, and if it comes down to it... I'll fight all of the pack, and anyone who wants to harm you." He closed his eyes. "So please... Forgive me and come back home..."

                                                                            {DarkRose's POV}

She would eye him as he'd clench his fist and turn around to move towards her. Her heart beat would pick up pace with each step that he took towards her. Her mind soaked in every word he said to her. Though his yell would cause her to flinch and whimper slightly. Her violet eyes were wide in shock as he told her he loves her. Her heart would swell up with joy, and tears would well up in her eyes as her tail would begin to slowly wag.

Feeling his hand on her head she would lean her head into it and close her eyes. The tingles, she could typically feel when her touched her skin in her human form, now being able to be felt in her wolf form as well. Feeling his forehead against her's and wanting to be able to reply, she would allow herself to shift back to her human form. A teary smile on her face, as all her anger had evaporated from her heart. She was so full of joy that he had accepted her that she didn't even care she was completely nude, nor that her favorite outfit she had was shredded when her wolf forced her to shift.

"I, DarkRose Ilthearia Redwing, beta of the Orora pack, accept you Haru Shiroi Okami as my one true mate." She would reply to him, the 'X' scar on her chest now fading quickly as the magic of the shifter laws now showed she was no longer unmatable. "Yes, Haru, I will come back." She would look up at him as she'd place her right and up his cheek and gently move his head up to look at her. Her violet hues looking deeply into his as if searching his soul to see if what he said were true. Her heart continued to beat rapidly within her chest, as if saying that this was truly meant to be.

Though the one thing DarkRose couldn't figure out was why was Haru so sick then if it wasn't due to the denial of the mate bond? What was he not telling her? What is it that he was hiding from her? Wanting answers she would find herself speaking up. "Haru..." She started to say, but then paused as she wondered if she should even ask, or wait for him to just tell her on his own time. "Never mind..." She'd murmur softly. Now feeling self conscious and silly.
