The boy had yet to understand where all this loathing came from. Did he do something his mind could not recall? Now however, was not the time to ask questions. Even now he had not retaliated after the town boys had spitefully kidn*pped his cubs. Rude.
If the town folks had wanted a fight they could have simply asked. He hadn't the heart to hit the stupid boys who had caused him to walk- well more like run here. Even though he did want to hit them. The weather at this moment reflected his gloomy mood and not only had he forgot that it was dark out it also looked like there was going to be a storm.
The boy as well as in a dark mood was also relieved that this well dressed handsome looking man stepped in. Clapping in the middle of the i***t's concentration, loudly that the air was then filled with silence all around, the idiots in the middle proceeded to look around in confusion and then bowed deeply to the High Lord.
Not the boy. He stared at the always cloudy sky as it got chillier. How odd? Nefèrro minded not that he did not bow till his head touched the ground. The boy stood there head up in the clouds then he turned not even sparing a short glance at the High Lord and walked away, animals in front.
~
Nefèrro decided to stay on Xtarcia a little while longer. It wouldn't kill him...... yet. Finding a small inn in the poor town to his liking of course. He did some snooping on the boy, whom he had yet to know the name of and all he knew after his so called snooping was that he didn't live in the village with the others. That much was obvious.
Tension could be smelt between the town folks and him. What slipped Nefèrro's mind were the other three lads who were there, why hadn't he remember this earlier. His toe was already purple.
The three had shaken like leaves which were practically nonexistent here, surely they must know where the other kid lived. Beans were spilled and now the High Lord was headed in the direction of the teenager with his security provided by the High Lady and Lord of Xtarcia along with his own. They couldn't leave him unguarded in their continent could they.
This area he walking was sparse in population of people, the further he walked the less buildings were seen until there was none at all. Instead snow, trees, snow, trees few animals here or there nothing major. The security derrière of him were antsy they were young understandable but not the time. He came across the.....house.
Or shack.
It looked abandoned to say the least but there he was at the front of it. Chopping wood supposedly to keep himself warm, he hadn't even raised his head to acknowledge the new comers yet he knew they were there watching him work with the rusting axe.
"What do you want?".
The tone already suggested they should leave him be, and came off rude even if it was a simple question. Then again the boy could care less. The golden locks headed man watched, studied him as he worked but did not answer the question. Finally his head rose to scan those there, he as curious but didn't show it.
What did they want with him? What made them walk so far unless they took transportation which they couldn't it was too narrow. Nefèrro watched him and he watched Nefèrro as Nefèrro stands out with his dressing. The guards looked between the powerful boy and man suddenly growing uncomfortable with the air both emitted. It was high time for the silence to break and the three animals did just that.
They came down the old stairs it creaking under their light bodies. Growls and barks from their muzzles. The first, at the front its coat a silvery white shimmering as he dashed from the other two behind of him. It was a wolf but Nefèrro had not seen any quite like this in his years not one so gorgeous definitely not one of this kind. The other two animals at the wolves(Nefèrro knew not what to call him) behind chasing him had similar coats but it was like some silver runes dance from there muzzles to their necks he knew the types of animals they were but was sure the fierce predators were removed from existence.
Nefèrro pointed.
"Are those-"
"Yes, they are indeed Ice Lepardos."
Nefèrro was cut off by the clearly younger boy whom lacked respect.
Lepardos have a distinct resemblance to leopards, the figures of each the same, the lepardos furs white with black spots dotting all over except the under belly and chest. These animals are much larger than the leopards thanks to the magic residing in them it is not known if these animals have powers until they reach a certain age. The Lepardos lived in all continents on Arallion but the graceful predators were being hunted especially the Ice Lepardos. It is rare to see Lepardos anywhere especially in Xtarcia as they were most hunted here.
"Weren't-"
Once again he was cut off.
"Yes they were supposed to be extinct."
Lord Nefèrro had learned about this animal when he was still in school and was saddened by the fact that people could be so cruel.
The three animals, two, the species of known the other not so much, stopped only for merely a second in their playing glancing at the strangers then back to what they were doing previously. The boy was annoyed, he was still over bubbling in anger taking it out on the poor tree logs which he already had many stacked inside to keep them warm. It was colder this time of year.
Even if it snowed all year round.
Nefèrro walked up to him hands folded behind his back. And the boy watched the older man questionably form rigid in case of an attack.
"Loosen up lad I ain't gonna eat ya." This statement made some of the guards laugh to which they received a dirty look.
"What do you want sir?"
"Simple, I want to offer you a preposition."
Nefèrro paused hoping the kid will take interest only he was but it was hard to see through his mask. The boy nodded the only sign that showed he was listening and to continue.
"I would like if you accompanied me back to my home city."
"For what reason and what will I get out of it?"
The boy did not know why this man had given that offer to a simple peasant like himself who was worth nothing, their are a lot of people out there who would jump for this chance.
"Well..... What is your name."
"Zarmeideus."
The boy, Zarmeideus stared before giving his name weighing the pros and cons of telling a complete stranger your name. But the man looked too kindhearted with wrinkles caused from laughing at the side of his eyes. And how the sides of his lips rose when Zarmeideus told him his name.
"Well Zarmeideus I know that you and these people don't particularly get along, am I right? from the incident which took place a few days ago I noticed. But lad this is your only chance of getting out of this place without these people causing more trouble for you."
All that anger that Zarmeideus suppressed came rushing back and that damned Lord was sporting a cheeky grin having finally getting a reaction from the cold boy. The animals who were still there whimpered as if remembering also when they were kidn*pped from their domain. Never had they seen anger from Zarmeideus such as that day and some were still brewing under the surface.
"Plus you are too young to live by yourself, it is against the rules of your country you could be taken away."
Still sporting that cheeky grin he turned and let his feet lead him away. Over his shoulder the Lord shouted.
"Think about it lad."
And Zarmeideus glared after him.
Arse.
