Chapter 18He woke, still grasping the delicate lace b*a in his fingers. He'd done it. He'd reached Finnola in her dreams. Carefully, cautiously he'd touched her across the distance, and his body ached with desire. She'd screamed, fought against him, even though he'd made it appear to be a memory, and not his touch reaching across the distance, entering her sleeping state. Why did she fight his love, his possession? He would take her back. Disappointment washed over me when I woke the following morning. Caleb wasn't in my room. Perhaps it had been a wonderful dream I'd experienced after the nightmare – maybe it had been a figment of my imagination. Dragging myself out of bed, I visited the bathroom and cleaned up a little. There was no point in taking a shower, with nothing to change
