Chapter 9The clouds covered the moon, plunging the world into oppressive darkness and me into a living nightmare. I stumbled away from the house and headed towards the trees, hoping they would provide some cover from the monster in the blackness. Tears trickled down my cheeks when I thought of Rebel's death. I'd grown fond of the wolf in the past few weeks and regretted him becoming another Ripper victim. Using the sound of the ocean as guidance and the tree line as cover, I limped along the coastline path, which Rebel and I had taken to walking each afternoon. More than once, I stumbled over the rocks, falling to the ground and scraping my palms.
