Chapter 41The initial excitement quickly faded when I realized it didn't give me an advantage at all. What could I possibly do with it? Regardless of anything else, I was struggling to control the ability and had to lower what I'd begun to think of as a 'shield' on a regular basis, otherwise the Ripper grew frustrated. I began to lower the shield intermittently, letting him back inside my head. I timed the length of the blocks, seeing how far I could push before he began to question what was happening.
