CHAPTER 4: THE PREPARATION The Silver Hunter Pack was all thrilled and excited over their special guest during their luncheon celebration, including their elderly, salt and pepper haired Alpha. Titan Arden was truly insisting that his pack perfect even the littlest detail of the honor lunch s***h assembly since he had a number of important requests from their new Lycan Ruler. True, the latest crowned monarch was still quite young due to the fact that he is the eldest and only son of their former Lycan leader who recently died due to a suspected vile and evil spell of an unknown but powerful witch. However, Alpha Titan was hoping that Wolfram, who he has seen and watch grow up from the time that he was still in linen diapers would respect his aged and senior wisdom, along with the long-time friendship and loyalty that their families has continually shared through the years. “Get those lengthy oak tables and long wooden benches and place them over there!” Titan ordered his Omegas as he pointed to the area in the front lawn that he meant. “And don’t forget to set up the long table right beside the stage, all right?” “Dad, I just got the cake ready on the pastry table,” announced Kyle, the Alpha’s eldest as he passed by while licking his fingers. Unfortunately, he ‘accidentally’ touched the yummy baked dessert while the dark brown-haired 30 year old male was fixing the three-layer chocolate fudge cake on its assigned, tall and circular table with its required purely white silken tablecloth. “Good job, son. What about you Marc, how is your ice sculpture coming along?” “I’m almost done, Pops,” the second 27-year-old Arden son replied, with a proud smile and a humorous twinkle in his dark brown eyes. “It’s almost like we’re preparing for someone’s wedding, ha ha ha!” “Well, the way that we’re celebrating seems to make that true, boy,” chuckled the oldest 55 year old Arden as he grinned at an amusing but ironic thought that suddenly hit him. “Which reminds me, our new Lycan Lord may have several mistresses but has never been married at all. I wonder why?” “His loss, Dad,” yelled the 25 year old auburn-haired James from his spot where he was arranging champagne flutes one on top of the other on a wide square table in preparation for the champagne fountain that he will be pouring upon the arrival of their special visitor. “Maybe, he’s like me and my brothers that still haven’t found our mates. Come to think of it, even little sister got married due to an arranged marriage and not because Abe was her true fated mate. Now she’s ended it and is back here with us because of that fact.” “That only proves to show us that we should find our mates or we might have to divorce the one we mistakenly married, whatever the reason may be,” Kyle, the oldest Arden male offspring sagely said with a small nod and a smirk. “That being said, I will wait for the Moon Goddess’ choice for me before I settle down.” “I definitely agree to that, bro,” the most creative son in the Arden family decided as he stepped down from his finished ice masterpiece. “Too bad little sis, seemed to have not found her mate yet, either.” “But she’s about to give birth to a son of an unknown but compassionate man,” concluded the youngest Arden male. “Is there any chance that we could find this one-night-stand lover of hers before she gives birth?” “No wonder my ears were burning since this morning,” impishly remarked Cecilia as she approached her immediate and caring family members from inside the packhouse. “What’s with all you talking about me, my baby’s father and my unborn child?” “I’m sure we’ll find him soon enough, lil’ sis,” assured Kyle with a confident smile. “Besides, we werewolves can easily smell our kids, even the unborn ones, from a mile away.” “Yeah, Cecilia,” interrupted Marc as he crept stealthily from behind. “Who knows, we might meet your baby’s father out of the blue one of these days.” “And you might end up marrying him so his son would have his real Dad and Mom together, stated James determinedly. “You could live happily ever after and your one-night-stand, whoever he may be, could become a part of our pack!” “OK that’s enough you three. Just stop giving your kid sister false hopes,” the protective patriarch stated as he waved his sons away from his very pregnant green-eyed daughter. “It’s time to get ready for our special mysterious guest. Shall we child?” “Are you talking to me or my unborn baby, Father,” jokingly giggled the lone and youngest member of the Arden family. “Ha ha! Very funny daughter,” Titan mirthfully chuckled at his 23 year old girl’s joke as he placed a sinewed arm around his only female offspring. “Judging from your pregnancy, dear child, you won’t be the youngest member of our small family pretty soon.” “I know, Father. Which is why I have no regrets on divorcing Abraham and coming back to your packhouse,” sincerely said the green-eyed young former wife as she tightly hugged her loving Dad. “By the way, who is our mysterious guest today?” Before Titan could answer, his firstborn son quickly wolf sped to him to proudly and excitedly announce their long-awaited special event of the day, “Father, the Lycan King has arrived!” “Then what are you waiting for, Kyle? Escort him here this instant!” the Silver Hunter Alpha curtly commanded as he smoothed his long-sleeved white shirt along with his tie. “Let me, Dad,” cheerily offered Cecilia as she faced her childhood Alpha and patriarch to begin fixing and tightening his silver and dark blue tie. In doing so, she was not able to notice the cloaked man who was swiftly approaching the Ardens… “I’ve smelled this scent before,” the Lycan monarch announced loudly as he walked with Kyle and sniffed the air. “Lavender and vanilla and a hint of my child’s unique smell.” I know that voice, but it can’t be him. By the Goddess, it must not be him! Quickly Cecilia turned around and gasped at the blond and blue-eyed cloaked male before her. “Goddess, it’s you?!” They both surprisingly and loudly exclaimed in unison.
