Eowyn’s POV: When I arrived at the diner, I saw Joe, my boss, park his car beside mine. Typical. "Great, the devil is here to watch us work," I muttered under my breath as I grabbed my bag and headed inside. The faint hum of fluorescent lights greeted me as I walked into the locker room. "Hey, Eowyn," Kate said, flashing me a tired smile. "Hey, Kate," I replied, setting my stuff down. "Did you see Joe? He's here." Kate groaned. "Yeah, I noticed. Guess we're in for a long night." Usually, the diner closes at 11 p.m., but when Joe decides to hang around, he finds ways to keep us working later. The man’s a jerk—no question about it. Thankfully, tonight hadn’t been too busy.
