Jessica's face twisted as she gripped Hugh's arm tightly. "Dad, are you sure? The painting is so rough, and the glaze is cracked. It doesn't match Lightmaster's style at all. How can it be authentic?" With a forceful tug, she nearly dropped the vase. Hugh's heart skipped a beat. This vase was even more valuable than his previous collection. He couldn't afford for it to break. Carefully, he placed it on the ground and turned to Jessica. "What were you thinking? Who told you to handle it like that?" Jessica felt like her world was spinning out of control these past few days. Her father had never struck her before, but now, twice because of Olivia. Furious, she snapped. "Dad, what's gotten into you? It's just a stupid vase. Are you hitting me over this?" Hugh stared at her sternly.
