Chapter Five: Strip!

1196 Words
ELENA I clutched my phone and battled between calling Carlos or just allowing everything to go on. After I had run up the staircase earlier, a selfish love -starved part of me yearned for him and wished that he would just come upstairs and grab me from behind or do something to soothe the pains that I was currently facing. Sadly, the opposite was what had happened. Carlos had left the house a few minutes later. I wasn’t surprised about what he did because, now, he no longer respected me and he acted as though I was a total stranger and not a loving wife. I had never felt this regretful in a long time as I felt in the early hours of the evening when Carlos had come to shout at me because I talked back at him. I waited until his car pulled out of the driveway before I hurried to the window and peered out into the almost dark driveway. Now, I was holding my phone, contemplating the possibility of him coming back a changed man if I called him on the phone and asked him to stop hurting me by being deliberately distant and cold to me. I knew it would be fruitless, but yet , I still nurtured the thought in my head. I quickly shook my head. No, I wasn’t going to do it. I had more important things to do than worry over a husband that didn’t love me and neither did he respect me. I went into the bathroom and spent long minutes underneath the showerhead as I allowed the water to run freely down my face and onto my back. When I was satisfied with the effects that the water had on my scalp, I switched off the shower and picked up my white towel. I wrapped it around my head. Then, I went out of the room and picked out my favorite nightgown from the shelf where it was neatly folded. I kept it on the bed and stared at it for a few seconds before going up to my big mirror. I lifted my arms and I allowed the towel to fall at my feet and I stared at my completely naked reflection in the mirror. My body had never ceased to amaze me. Over the months , despite the countless foreign dishes that I had eaten on the numerous vacations that Carlos and I took abroad, I still didn’t add on any extra weight. Instead, my milky white skin stretched out on my body and filled out on the right places while my soft bosom always stood in a perky heap on my chest. I was an eye-turner. I didn’t need to be told that even my husband’s friends eyed me. My curves would always sway on my petite frame whenever I walked. Despite my being so attractive, I still struggled to figure out why Carlos had suddenly lost interest in me. It was very frustrating the night he started withdrawing from me. I tried everything within my means to understand what was happening but there was no need. Carlos didn’t even touch me. He distanced himself from me, acting as though he had offended him. Now, the whole situation had escalated and I was now like an enemy to my own husband. I was almost sleeping off in front of a sketch when I heard the front door open and I leaped up immediately, wanting to see Carlo. My brows furrowed as he stumbled inside and a faint scent of alcohol flooded the air. This was the first time I had seen him this drunk. Despite my mind telling me against it, my feet carried me to his side as I tried to help him steady my hands freezing in mid air at the cold glare he shot at me. “What the hell do you think you are doing?” He growled as he stared down at me, making me flinch, and I turned to leave, since he didn’t need my help until I caught sight of the red lipstick on the collar of his brown shirt. The very sight of it seemed to be mocking and taunting me. And all of the things he had done and I had endured up until this point suddenly seemed insignificant as I landed a dirty slap on his cheeks, catching him off guard. “And to think I gave a bastard like you my heart and body!” I spat and, if anything, I was certain he would spot the venom in my voice. I hoped that the anger in my voice would be enough to shield the pain I was feeling and I clenched my fist tightly so it could distract me from the pain in my heart. Before we got married, Carlo used to feel repelled by most women. It was convenient since it meant that I didn’t have to worry too much about covetous people. I was about to start another line of questioning when Carlo lunged at me. He pulls me in one swift movement towards him before lifting me over his shoulder. “Put me down!” I yelled as I tried my best to struggle, the clash of my fists on his back too painless to make him stop. Carlo flung the door to our bedroom open and carried me down simultaneously. However, before I could take one step, he was on me and he pulled my hands together as he closed the space between us. “Since when did you think you could use those smarty mouths on me?” He asked. The smell of alcohol, mint and something I couldn’t place filled my nostrils. He had changed his smell. His lips were on mine before I could say anything and he bit down on them sharply, causing me to let out a yelp in pain. I was sure that it would draw blood, but the feel of Carlo’s tongue on mine makes that seem as insignificant as it could be, my body drowning in the very feeling it had craved for more than a month now. I tried to wiggle my hands free, a deep urge to run my hands through his hair and remind myself of how they felt, but his hold on me was too tight. “Strip.” I looked up in surprise, my mind still reeling from the kiss. Somehow, because of how long it had been, the kiss had seemed like the best I could remember. Without touching me, my entire body was hot all over and I could already feel liquid pooling between my legs. “I won’t say it one more time. Strip.” His voice breaks through my thoughts and I look at him hesitantly trying to read the look in those emotionless eyes that gazed back at me. As much as I didn’t want to, my body wanted the opposite and the yearning to have his hands on me, to have him inside me, was a stronger pull than the confusion and embarrassment I was feeling. “The very third time would come with greater consequences, Principessa"
