I get back to the first bar and get a great Ice-café, that I learned to love during my Erasmus placement in Jena; I also eat pita bread with meat and salad. As a dessert I order a typical Greek ricotta cake that, I’m afraid, I’ll never get to digest. Since there are no newspapers available, I watch the news on an old tv. From the English subtitles I can guess it talks about the strike of the Culture Ministry’s temporary employees: they protest the Greek’s austerity plan and the following redundancies decided by the government (if they don’t do something soon, this country is doomed). The images show the public employees who barricaded themselves for days within the Acropolis and the police trying to disperse protesters with tear gas; they finally show the entrance of the riot control team
