Dread pooled in Joanne's stomach, but she had no choice—she opened the door.
"Are you Joanne Wren?"
"Yes."
"Last night around ten, were you at CloudTop Club's VIP Room 619 where you had a violent confrontation with Seth Bennett and injured him?"
Joanne's breath stalled. "He attacked me. I was defending myself—"
The officer cut her off. "You caused irreparable damage to his testicles. He's pressing charges. You'll need to come with us for questioning."
After reviewing the warrant and verifying the officers' IDs, Joanne grabbed her phone and ID before following them out.
At the station, they made her recount the incident blow-by-blow.
"So you're saying Seth Bennett lured you there under the pretense of a job interview and tried to force himself on you?"
