Piper The sharp click of my heels echoes through the long hallway, but it’s drowned out by the heavier thud of Adam’s footsteps behind me despite my attempt to outpace him. I can feel his eyes boring into the back of my head. My hands clench into fists as I struggle to ignore him. This part of the hotel is supposed to be relaxing—lined with boutique stores and soft music playing in the background.
