Chapter 28

1553 Words

"JASMINE… Jasmine, how long are you going to sleep? Come on, wake up; you will be late for your college," her mother's loud voice made her open her eyes. "Jasmine, don’t go back to sleep.” But she was so tired and her eyelid felt heavy that she was up all day to finish her work and didn't get enough sleep. She closed her eyes again when her mother opened the curtain, and the sun hit her face. "Jass," her mother Fatima called her again and went to shake her shoulder. She opened her eyes and looked at her. "I've been up since you opened the door, mom." Then she got up, rested her back on the bed headboard, smiled at her mom, and said good morning to her. Fatima sat in front of her, looked at her daughter's tired face, and said, "Good morning, honey, when did you go to bed last night?"
